I was here about 4 weeks ago with a couple of customers, their recomendation. Anybody who has seen my Indian restaurant reviews will know that I am not a fan of the new wave style of Indian places — that is the type shown in the photo on this page. LED lights and black\chrome fittings are not my thing — I prefer the old back street curry house place. Having said all that you will notice the 4 stars, the reason for that is very good food and great service. Yes it was a tuesday night, yes there was perhaps 5 other tables taken but I think you can tell when a place cares about its customers and wants to see those customers become regulars. Quick pint at the bar and explanation that one of the guys in our group hadnt had Indian food much so would want a very mild meal. We had usual papad and dips — OK Chicken and Lamb tikka, Dhall soup — very good. Chicken Ceylon(madras style but with more coconut and lots of black pepper) Chicken Passada(for the newbie) Chicken Rogan 3 rice 2 Naan — 1 stuffed paratha Channa massala, Saag Aloo 6 pints 3 large brandies All very good, plenty of meat, all tasted fresh. Service was great — including ordering a cab for us. Total bill came out at £120 with tip. I thought good value. There are loads of curry houses in Hull but if you are in this area and dont have one recomended to you then you could do a lot worse than the Raj Pavilion.

been to Raj Pavilion several times over the years and have to say that they just keep managing to exceed themselves. The surroundings and ambience are such that as the instant you walk in, you feel relaxed and welcome. The menu is extensive(lucky that staff are more than willing to help offer recommendations!), food is excellent and the staff are very warm, friendly and helpful. the atmosphere is always perfect with the food served at correct intervals to give us chance to prepare for each course. Definitely THE only choice for indian food!

I enjoy Raj, it is where I would take my girlfriend if I had one unfortunately I only have a wife. I really enjoy this restaurants delicate curries that make me want to go back long time after.

The food here was always the best in the area, even when it was served in fairly grotty surroundings prior to its makeover. Now the interior has the wow factor that the food has. They have a number of dishes on the menu that you don’t see on other Indian menus and their Peshwari Nan is sensational.

This is a great Indian restaurant — it’s had a massive facelife as is really contemporary and cool inside. Much bigger now too. Food is god, large portions, well priced. But, the service can be VERY slow at busy times, even though they have loads of staff and take big parties. Very good, authentic Indian food though and would recommend.

Raj Pavilion is a restaurant on Beverley Road, which also serves take away food. They serve Indian cuisine. The restaurant is very well designed and well finished, although it is small. The restaurant serves take away to pick up or to deliver. They serve the same food which they serve in the restaurant, and the food is of the same quality as if you were actually in the restaurant itself. The delivery service is quick and efficient, and the food is always still piping hot when it arrives. I love having food from Raj Pavilion as a treat, and would deinately recommend this place to anyone who likes Indian food.

we recently visited this restaurant for a friends birthday celebrations. we were part of a very large party and they were very accomodating and welcoming. the food was very nice, not the best indian food i’ve ever tasted but still very good. they’ve just had a massive refurbishment so very nicely decorated in that indian restaurant kind of way, with fairly dim lighting, very atmospheric!

Very extensive menu with really interesting and unusual dishes. The food was very good and the staff friendly and helpful(recommending alternatives to our requests, well worth listening). The MAJOR downside was the wait, we were there 45 minutes/an hour befor our meal arrived, normally not such a big deal, but there were only 2 other diners there that night. I had been warned that this is a pretty usual occurence, worth the wait… I suppose so. Food and staff 4 stars, waiting time 2 stars. Great décor(check out the bathrooms!), they said it had recently undergone a half a million makeover, pretty snazzy!
