History
Established in 2000.
Sugar and Spice originally started out as «The Candy Man.» The owner’s father started the business and was something of a sweet tooth. He really liked confectionery and one day someone called him the Candy Man. The name stuck and that’s what he called his shop.
After 2 years he became ill and his daughter, Toni, took over the business. She re-named the business, Sugar and Spice, and started to offer more gourmet confectionery and chocolate products. After trading successfully for three more years, she carried out a full refurbishment of the shop and incorporated the ice cream factory at the rear of the premises. It was around this time that her father died and she named the ice cream in memory of him — Geraldo’s.
The business now retails many of its products online and offers a bespoke, personalised service to customers looking for gift hampers or special occasion gifts. Enquiries can be taken by telephone or submitted by email.
