Hollywood Bowl

Let’s face it — who doesn’t love bowling?!
This may not be the most dapper of places, and the drinks selection might be pretty rubbish, but it makes up for these with pure fun!
The bowling lanes are well kept and everything seems to work well, and there was a good selection of balls on my recent visit (very important!). There’s also the added bonus of the call waiter button so you can have drinks brought to you, which is obviously awesome! I don’t think they were particularly pricey either — I’m sure I got about 7 drinks for under £20.
And let’s not forget the arcade! The dance machine is amazing to have a go on or watch, and then there’s various other arcade games and things like air hockey (5 own goals — damn you air hockey!!!) to get to grips with.
One thing to remember with this particular venue is that there are a lot of families that go there, so you have to be on (fairly) good behaviour, but it’s always nice to see the excitement on the kids’ faces when they get a strike (even if they do use the ramp — little cheats!!).
All in all, a cracking way to spend a few hours if you feel like being a big kid again!

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. I have been here a number of times with friends and family. Its location works quite well because its surrounded by a variety of restaurants and a great public car park which is free.

Everything you need for a party or a good night out you can go bowling, play in the arcades, have some drinks at the bar and have a very nice meal.

different varity of games from air hockey to guitar hero and coin push games and claw machines, although some are a bit pricey for the amount of go’s you get.

To be honest I would give the bar 2 maybe 3 stars because they serve larger in a bitter glass so it tastes flat and they charge almost the same price for a bottle of budwiser as they do for a pint, they have very comfy sofas to sit on by the windows, a juke box, a quiz machine and several pool tables.
would recomend going to aire of the dog for a drink as the beer is much better in there.
The food
I was really impressed with the hot dog and chips as it was great value for the money because you get a proper baguette not the cheap hot dog rolls and a fair amount of chips and it really did taste beautiful, the rest of my party were really impressed with the food they ordered as well.

You can book a lane in advance and pay when you show up at the time you want, they normally have offers such as 6 games for £6 (see
for more details) you can order drinks and food from your lane, the only criticism i have is that it is too loud in there at times so you have to shout to hear anybody you are with
The only thing that could really make this place better is if it was like when L.A. Bowl was still around and have quazar and dodgems

Top marks for this bowling alley on Kirkstall Road in Leeds. Situated around various restaurants and a couple of pubs it’s perfect for a family and friends.
I have been several times — the staff are friendly, there is a games area with arcade machines and air hockey and the bar is sensibly priced. The selection of alcohol is limited to the usual — Fosters and the like, but it’s okay because you’ll be having too much fun bowling!
Each time I have been it has been a group booking and I rarely spend over a tenner and that gets a couple of games and a pint or two. Great value fun for people of all ages!

Grab your mates, split into teams, shout taunts at each other over who’s gonna kick the other’s bootay, and then when you get to Hollywood Bowl, order a couple of games, put the silly shoes on and get to working on that strike. I’ve never had to reserve or book lanes for games with groups of friends. You could think this was due to the lack of bowling populous in Leeds, the more logical explanation would be the fact that this particular Hollywood Bowl is flippin enormous. If you do book in and you’ve got some time to spare, or you simply finish your game (s) and you’re not all funned out yet, then stumble across to the pseudo arcade and play a game of air hockey, or watch small children wipe their parents out of loose change for the grabby prize machine thingy. Hungry? Get yerself off over to the fast food station and grab a Hollywood Burger, which is pretty dire to be honest, but they do serve Slush!!! YUM! If that fails, then there’s a bar, it’s not cheap, but it’s not plain extortion. Good place to spend with friends or family.

Imagine…you’ve seen the two good films on at the cinema, you can’t afford ANOTHER dinner out with your boyfriend that week, it’s raining and you think going for a drink might depress you even more! Everyone can empathize i am sure!
My answer to my friends is always «Bowling guys», we whack on our jeans and head there straight away. You can whist away a good few hours on the arcade games, in the café and over a few games of bowling (and a standard couple of competitive arguments!).
Hollywood bowl is brilliant as it is surrounded by other attractions such as the vue cinema, bars and many restaurants (including one of my personals favorites… Nando’s…yummy!)
If your budget is slightly too small for a full day out there just head bowling. They do a brilliant deal between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday you can have a massive 6 games for only 6 pounds per person (£1 a game each… superb!)

Hollywood Bowl is a huge bowling alley/​arcade/​bar on the Cardigan Fields retail park which I have frequented since I was a child and it opened.
In Leeds, it’s definitely the best place to go for bowling if you’re after a professional, entertaining experience. They have so many lanes that, even if you don’t reserve, you can usually turn up and get a lane within ten minutes at the busiest of times. The staff are efficient and if there’s ever a problem with your lane they’re at your beck and call and can be summoned with the press of a button.
It’s a lively, family orientated place as you’d expect, but this doesn’t mean you can’t have banter as a group of adults — something helped by the alcohol waitering service they offer. The drinks, along with the basic food, is averagely priced for a bowling alley, and there’s an on-​site bar area where you can carry on the drinking. And, for when you’re really hammered, there’s also an arcade area with dozens of games that make you wish you were a kid again.

Hands down the biggest bowling complex I have stepped foot in! My little brother would have been in heaven… Hollywood Bowl was extremely packed, as expected, on Friday evening but they were able to accomodate very efficiently and without any wait!
I highly suggest logging on to their website and reserving lanes through their online system. We were able to book two lanes for 10 people the same day.

I like this hollywood bowl, its very popular at peak times, weekends and evening. Also keep an eye out on the website for special offer last half term they were doing bowling for as little a 1p. Also the café has some good family meal deals where 4 people can eat for under a tenner. There special equipment for younger bowlers too so all the family can have a go with lighter balls, bumpers and ramps for the small kids to use. Great place to take the family.

A good bowling alley, pretty standard that you’d expect from Hollywood Bowl. It can get busy on a weekend and on an evening so booking ahead is advisable. Bar service to your lane too which is excellent, adn a light show on the lanes in the evenings.

An excellent bowling alley — well organised and with loads of alleys. It can get crowded at weekends which means booking is recommended. The alleys are very modern and buffers can be raised and lowered as per requirements for each bowler. There is also reasonably decent food here and a full bar as well as an amusement arcade.
Its is part of a complex with various places to eat as well as a large multi-​screen cinema. The negative point is I have heard reports of cars being broken into in the car park.

Situated in the centre of Kirkstall’s Entertainment Park, Hollywood Bowl is surrounded by pubs, restaurants and a cinema. Making it the ideal location for the start of a night out.
Once inside you are greeted with an arcade, with numerous machines; from racing games, to grabber machines, to slot machines. There is also a bar and café restaurant which you can either enjoy in their section or at the side of your lane.
Booking a lane is normally a necessity as this bowling alley is very popular. You can book online though which is a great help.
With a wide selection of balls, meaning there is one suitable for everyone, as well as a ramp which can be used for children or disabled people. Bumpers are also an option.

has a café/​burger bar, ok prices for food but drinks cost a fortune, better to get drinks from the vending machines there. also there is a macdonalds, pizza hut &loads of resurants on the same site.
has a bar area for adults with pool tables (& a dart board i think) also has various amusments, video games, slot machines etc
has good clean toilets & usualy a livley atmosphere, playing music television.
has options for discount for family game & if you check out the website it will give details of prices etc, it cost less in the daytime than at night etc, also you are more likely to get a lane through the day if you just turn up, on a night you will have to book or wait along time!
