Pickerings

Having had such an absolute nightmare with my current estate agents I really, I mean really, want to find someone reliable and helpful for my next house. I think the most important thing when living in a rented property isn’t so much a house that is bordering on palatial, as a fairly decent house that should anything go wrong you can rely on it being sorted swiftly.
I decided to nip into Pickerings this afternoon to have a wee nosy at some of their offerings. I know I’m looking a little early, but I want to get the ball rolling, so I wandered in. I was greeted by a really friendly and helpful guy who was keen in every respect to try and help. I let him know that I was mostly after some materials to take home and browse, and this wasn’t a problem — he had a brochure.
He immediately made some helpful suggestions based on the brief criteria I had given him, which was a great start, and without prompting offered to show me some photographs of the innards of the property we were discussing! I let him know that we were looking for a reliable estate agents as much as a house with a decent service history, as it were, and he seemed genuine in every respect to assure me that they do their best. So far, so good.
Of course, I’ve yet to see whether they might live up to this good first impression, but so far I like what I’ve seen. That, in a nutshell is this: some pretty decent properties (albeit a bit of a higher price bracket) and some great customer service so far. We shall see, when I am ready for viewings, how it unfolds!
