I actually think R. V. Smith’s might be the largest stall in the market. Sat at the end of Fish and Game Row, it occupies 5 or 6 times the space that it’s neighbour does. Having gandered online to see if it was indeed the largest, I noticed that it was kicking about, but on Butchers Row back in 1975. So it’s stood the test of time, and has grown because of it. RVS is the type of stall you come to the market for. Without treading too heavily on the butchers toes, it has game and poultry for sale at very reasonable prices. If you ever have an urge to try rabbit, for example, this place might well be the best place to come, offering several different cuts. They also sell an enormous slection of cheese, eggs, cured meat and also a small selection of grcery’s behind the counter, for all the staples you might also need. Handy and helpful, RVS deserves the massive space it has.
