Lifton Strawberry Fields

We happened upon this farm shop and restaurant, purely because of a diversion off the A30. What a find! Attractive flower beds lead you into an expansive restaurant, with well spaced wooden tables of varying sizes to cater for a fair number of people. The outside seating was popular too, as today Summer seems to have finally arrived! On the lunch menu, amongst other things were salmon, cod, paninis, jacket potatoes and the intriguing ‘Gurt’ burger. All very tempting but as our visit was only mid-​morning, we had a cup of strong coffee and a very tasty rock cake. The staff were friendly and helpful too. The farm shop was very sizeable too, including a huge deli counter, a butcher, a good range of bakery products, jams, preserves, teas, utensils and a massive fruit and veg section. Great to browse over, prices slightly higher than average, but you would expect that. All in all, a great find.

Stopped on way to Cornwall, pasties were sooooooooo good we stopped for more on way home! A great farm shop with a brilliant (licenced) restaurant. Well worth 5 stars

This is a great breakfast, made with locally sourced food and freshly served. The sausages are from the butcher on site, and the bread is from the baker on site. The eggs are locally sourced and orange (as they should be) and the property is recently extended so there is always space. As you travel down to Cornwall, this is the place to pull in for food and provisions from the bakers, butchers and farm shop.

A very good farm shop on the outskirts of Lifton, just off the A30. Famed for their all-​day breakfasts and Sunday lunches, they also stock a very good range of locally produced fruit and vegetables. Thre is a butchery department and a bakery and the ready-​made steak and ale pies are amazing. Other farm shop produce including bread and cakes, pickles and jams, ciders and beers, their own make of ice cream etc etc. The café does lots of tea and cakes as well as more complete meals and has recently been extended. They also have a range of events, the halloween party is especially good (but not for very young children) and includes fireworks. In the summer they have pick your own strawberries and raspberries and some veg and they sell apples etc from their own orchards. There is also a small playground for the children. Highly recommended.
