The small town of Linlithgow, a stone throw away from Edinburgh, has a surprising number of pubs in its tourist heavy centre. I have to say that the Lithgae Arms wasn’t my favourite pub. There was nothing that bad about my visit, but there was nothing spectacular. Unlike the Black Bitch and the tourist friendly The Four Maries, the Lithgae Arms didn’t seem quite as welcoming. Not that they were rude, but I didn’t get the impression it was as used to visitors as perhaps elsewhere. Perhaps this pub is more of a local. It has a local sort of feel, with a more traditional atmosphere. Having said that they have a good bar with not bad prices(cheaper than the above mentioned). Also of note is that the Lithgae Arms is(apparently) known for its karaōke nights. Not my sort of things but maybe yours. I intend to revisit the Lithgae Arms sometime, give it another chance, and hope for a slightly better atmosphere.
