The man planted behind the counter when I last visited this den of inequity was the pinnacle in pawnbroker stereotypes. I’m sure he was a lovely feller, but there was something about his patter and general attitude that put me in mind of a Galton and Simpson character. Personal attacks on strangers aside, there’s something about Cash Converters that fills me with uneasiness. Browsing the gadgets and gizmos on offer, you can’t help but wonder where exactly they were burgled from, and how long ago. Some of the appliances here still have marks of crime on them. Still, if you want some cheap DVDs and don’t mind the police kicking down your door in the near future, it makes a great location for last-minute birthday presents. What? It’s not my fault I can’t remember everybody’s birthday!

This cash converters is a decent size but in a bit of an odd location — rarely busy it sits amongst the string of shops here as a bit of a sore thumb with nothing but restaurants, car shops and industrial shops to keep it company. Generally speaking, the cash converters in town have better stock and seem to move stuff faster giving you more choice, so the better bet is to head in and go bargain hunting amongst the electronic shops nearer to liverpool one. This cash converters must only really be used out of convinience in this more residential area on the end of smithdown road.
