Crosby Library

This is definitely the better of the two local libraries; it’s much larger, stocks more books, DVDs and CDs, has a more comprehensive IT suite and also has a fantastic local history department with access to microfiche, maps and photographs. However I don’t think the range of books is as extenisive as it could be there is a small selection of every genre but, it’s never quite enough and I often find the shelves disappointingly sparse. Although, the children’s section is great and very populare, which is important in a community library.
There is a café and toilets available and lots of staff on hand to help with any enquiries. You can also pick up leaflets and guides on the local area: its amenities and centres as well as information on forthcoming events across Sefton and Liverpool

There’s a lot of genealogical information stuffed into this seemingly ordinary little library, and some helpful staff too. Crosby is an area formerly quite separate from Liverpool, and it goes back a long way, so the local information is about farmers and craftsmen, wonderful stuff. The courtyard outside the library is pleasant, and there’s a café too.

Been going here since i was a kid and its never changed, it could do with updating. They also have a very cute childrens area where you can take your children and sit and pick books.
You can reserve books and they will also contact you when they are avaliable. So you dont have to keep going back to see if the book is avaliable
