This is my first bad review… and I really hate doing it, but I can’t pretend this place is good: It’s bad. Elation has recently moved from larger premises on the same road, it used to always be full of old ladies having a rinse and set but, following the move, the new little place looked much more modern and quite glamorous, at least from the street. I decided to have my hair cut and coloured here for my 21st birthday and, well, yes I was sorry. I requested curls which were attempted but soon abandoned for a «big and bouncy blow» which ended up a flat flop. I had more hair dye on my ears and shoulders than on my roots, which were as dreadfully apparent as before. It wasn’t just the bad hair though, from start to finish the service was just poor. Following the rather uncomfortable welcome under the scrutiny of the young female staff, my coat was not put away and remained on the floor throughout, none of the staff wore uniforms, looking as unprofessional as they acted: half heartedly washing my hair and, when not discussing how inebriated they had been the night before, stopping frequently throughout cutting and blowdrying to text, resulting in an EXTREMELY long hair appointment which made me late for another engagement I had stressed I had to make on time. The salon itself is not as nice as I had suppose and looks rather unfinished. I felt like I was in a utility cupboard as I had my hair washed surrounded by rubbish bins, brushes and mops. Very disappointed.

Elation is a good place to go, the staff are lovely and always polite. I do think it can be a bit old fashioned tho, and there always seem to be alot of older people in there. The place is nice decorated and very light and airly so you feel fresh and ncie and tidy when you leave. the girls are nice and polite and always offer you a nice cup of tea or coffee. The prices are very cheap esp considering some of the other places locally i have been to. overall i find elation a great place to get your hair cut.
