Not on a busy enough street that you should be embarrassed walking in with legwarmers on, the MDI caters for everyone at most levels of dance ability. There are classes from beginners to advanced and you never feel like you can’t take part. They offer classes in contemporary, ballet, street and salsa to name a few, and I should know as I’ve been to a few of them myself.
The teachers are locals and take each class with a no-nonsense attitude without being cold or nasty. As long as you throw yourself in feet first they don’t really mind whether the steps are perfect, although there are occasionally people who regard themselves as professionals in the class who have a knack for making you feel stupid without trying.
Classes run throughout the day and evening, and some even cater for speciality groups, such as 50 Moves for the ‘mature mover’ and parents and toddlers on a Monday morning. Worth checking out!
