I need to give this place another chance. Outstanding service, lovely venue, I just take issue with my meal. I had the chicken katsu, which was unlike any katsu I’ve ever had before and not really in a good way. Very contemporary, fusion based meal with a lot of south East Asian influence on the plate. I’m a bit of a Japanese food purist, and I think a lot of the beauty of Japanese food comes from how elegant, clean, fresh and delicious everything is. A sticky spicy rice, with what was very much like a southern fried chicken fillet(no panko to be seen) just did not hit the spot for me. Katsu is a hearty comforting dish, the little splodge of smooth warm curry sauce on the side was too little and almost a sad reminder of what the plate should really have looked like. Sorry guys– I will try again another time, the brilliant service alone would make it worth another shot!

Absolutely cannot fault this place at all, from the amazing décor and atmosphere to the ultra friendly bar staff, its a great dining experience. There are so many places to eat on Bold Street and having just started working here I intend to work my way through as many as possible! I eat Asian food quite often, but I can say hand on heart this is one of the best Asian meals I’ve had. We came here for lunch but its a beautiful place to come in the evening. everything is blue and gold, even the bonsai trees were sprayed gold — I like things shiny! Between two of us, we had the mixed grilled yakitori consisting of chicken, lamb and beef skewers; duck gyoza, because its a known winner!; nori and wasabi popcorn, which was sweet and had only a hint of wasabi flavor so it didn’t blow your face off!; miyagi fried chicken with kimchi mayo; and special fried rice which included cashew nuts, chili peppers, coriander, lime… the list goes on, it was indeed, very special!

Up on Bold St, Mr Miyagi’s has a lovely atmosphere, attentive servers and delicious food. We ordered the veggie laksa, prawn tempura, salmon sashimi and goats cheese/asparagus roll to share between two — all were really beautifully presented and super tasty. Our server was lovely, and though a little expensive, its a good place to splash out on. Would highly recommend!

Hello awesome experience! In fact double, triple, quadruple that — what a fantastic place and I feel compelled to review it now as they only have one Unilocal review so far and I want this biz to do well! This was a special birthday lunch treat from my wife — most enjoyable, well thought out and definitely very me! Here’s the best points: *Awesome Japanese/Pan Asian Soul Food(Gyoza, Ramen, Belly Buns — all so so good) *Awesome building and décor *Awesome staff — so so friendly, making our 2.5 year old daughter welcome *Awesome music — hello Marvin Gaye extended albums. *Awesome imported Asahi Black in bottles Seriously — if you’re anywhere near Liverpool then you need to get here.

Waow. If you like asian food and jazz/blues/rock’n’roll music, this is the place. The food was really good! I can honestly say it was one of the best asian meals I ever had, and I eat asian food pretty often. Prices are acceptable, and service was impeccable!
