Quick chef is very close to my flat, so I often buy some pizza and take away after my classes. All flavor with mushroom taste good. However, if add more cheese on the pizza, I think the taste will get much more better.

Quick Chef has a bit of everything it is a café and a bar and is open late at night so it can be the kind of place you get to for an evening meal. I have heard this place called a noodle bar but have also heard people laud it for its sea food and Mediterranean fare as well. Added to all of this there are even shepherds pies and a good hearty lasagne to choose from there really is everything. The place has a lot of class about it and does a good job of balancing the many cuisines which are going on within. This café and bar has an amazing ambience which is perfect for a meal at any time of day at all. Essentially this place has it all and it is quite quirky in its’ own way but for the full idea you will have to see for yourself and I don’t think you will be let down.

There seems to be a lot of chefs around this end of town and they’ve all got pretty big egos. There’s your Top Chef on Berry Street and Quick Chef further up the road and it can’t be any coincidence that they all specialise in good, cheap mediterranean based fayre. I’ll often over look this place because of its tiled interior and plastic fantastic seating and think it’s a takeaway so I’m always pleasantly surprised when ever I go to have a better choice of meals than just chips, pizzas an kebabs — although these are pretty damn good here — and be able to choose from English comfort food such as Shepherds Pie or more ordinary lunch time snacks.

Quick Chef… The fastest chefs in the West(or at least this end of Hardman Street.) So maybe they can’t throw a lasso or draw pistols from 50 paces but they sure do serve a swift sandwich. Filling, fresh, tasty and served with a smile, Quick Chef is a sure-fire place for the hungry, the rushed and the penniless. It’s nice and cheap in here and the food is pretty top notch(the lasagne-extra cheese and yummy with salad!) Good for lunch or a break from the university grindstone. Mediterranean in style as well as the usual English options it’s similar to Top Chef around the corner, so if you like it there, you’ll love it here!

Who doesn’t love Hardman Street’s Quick Chef? Serving up cheap and tasty fry-ups of all shapes and sizes to the fair people of Liverpool, it truly is everything that a good greasy spoon should be — which is why it’s loved by students and office workers alike. For the cost of £3.50, you can usually get yourself a slap up fried breakfast and a mug of tea or coffee. One of my personal favourite breakfasts that they do is their ‘Egyptian Special’, a delicious combination of eggs, tomatoes, parsley and ‘foul medames’ — butter beans which have been mashed up with olive oil, garlic, lemon juice and parsley. Delicious and moreish, they’re worth the price of the breakfast alone. If Egyptian food isn’t your cup of tea, they do a mean range of sandwiches(including a mighty falafel sandwich), baked potatoes, pizzas and hamburger meals to suit all tastes. Basically, there’s something here for everyone, meaning it’s a great place to pop into if you’re tired, hungover or just watching the pennies. All in all, it’s a practically perfect little café.

Quick Chef is right at the top of Hardman street and well serves the Philharmonic and Mulberry Court halls. On offer are a wide range of well prepared dishes for extremely low prices. Most of the dishes come on a bed of chips and the portions are massive. Quick Chef is perfect for the morning after a heavy night out or in preparation for a long night cramming in the library. Equally its not just used by students although this does seem to be the main clientele whenever I have been. My personal favourite dish is the cheese burger as it is only £3(double up to £3.80) and although its not the greatest meal I have ever had it certainly fills you up an sets you up well if you have a long day ahead of yourself.

Quick! Chef! I need a plate of sausage, chips and beans before I slip into coma from lack of sleep and blood-sugar. And while you’re at it, fetch me a big, fat mug of black coffee. There seems little to add to what Rebecca has said already but to reiterate that this is the ideal location for mopping the morning after whilst also emphasizing that the coffee here is genuinely some of the best that I’ve tasted — a rich, dark roast and for a tiny fraction of the cost of a mug from Costa or Starbucks. Really brilliant. A lot of people will tell you that the Magnet next door does the best hangover breakfast in Liverpool but I have to confess that I much, much prefer the fry up at this unassuming little place.

A good place to go the morning after the night before, this is a cheaper alternative to the surrounding cafes and bars and the food is just as good. It is always busy whenever I walk past and I guess its because of the simple, no-frills attitude of the place. Although not quite a ‘greasy spoon’ café, it operates along the same premise: big cups of tea, hearty breakfasts served all day and a solid menu made up of chip butties and jacket potatoes. You could probably eat for two for less than a tenner as well, which is always worthwhile in my book. Those of you who are avid readers of my reviews will recall the Italian Bistro I worked in where I was sent down the road to Hardman Pizza every time someone ordered a pizza — this is what the Bistro has become. Having worked in the grease-encrusted kitchen for a while I was a bit cautious to eat anything produced in the same place, however I was happy to find out that the old bistro was gutted and all new stuff brought in for Quick Chef, so there are no worries about cleanliness any more. PS, if you ever did eat in the Italian Bistro, please disregard anything I’ve said about the hygiene. It was lovely. Honest.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve been here for a student lunch. The sandwiches and toasted sandwiches are good and really cheap. You get loads and loads of fillings. The staff are so friendly and the menu has such a wide range of foods. I think the place is Egyptian as it does do so interesting Egyptian specialities but then there are also a few Greek things thrown in as well. Definitely better than Chimos as a lot less busier(but still busy during student time)

A fantastic little café that does something for everyone. You can get a full english or pizza or roast chicken or a salad, the list goes on. All very reasonably priced. A strongly recomend the Falafel sandwich!

This is one of the best places ofr a greasy spoon. For 3 small pounds you get the works and a cup of tea or coffee. Perfect for the student. All round though it provides great food for all tastes. The menu is diverse and has something for everyone.
