This is my favourite branch of TFBS for two reasons: They have a growing selection of French style period furniture including dining room tables, Louis IV chairs, coffee tables and beds. Trying to navigate your way around the shop is like entering a maze. There’s lots of little rooms and corridors that seem to lead to yet more rooms filled with more fabric, more chairs and more lamp-shades. My advice to find your way out? Buy a roll of brightly coloured thread when you enter and drop it as you walk…

Here on Stafford Street, or Liverpool’s Textile Quarter as I like to call it, there are a ton of great fabric and bric-à-brac shops, and this is certainly one of them. Absolutely adorable and higgledy-piggledy, you’re instantly amazed that they fit anything in here but they’ve made amazing use of the space. Winding corridors and hidden rooms along with a very thin, steep staircase all lead towards not only rolls of fabrics and tons of little accessories, but also furniture. Displays are set up, every single one of which is done in the best possible taste and looks like something you’d want in your own room. There’s some lovely distressed vintage furniture, and the textiles are so coveted that I overheard a lady saying she comes here every weekend from Manchester just for the superb fabrics. Well, that’s a testimonial you can’t argue with, and the staff are friendly to boot. Get yourself in here and find some treasures.
