This Yates’s is situated on Allerton Road. It is a large pub offering a good range of seating and some standing room for when it gets busy, which it often does. I have rarely been here when it has not been very busy as it is obviously a popular place with a lot of locals, but not with me. Like with many other Yates’s I find this place a bit bland. It has nothing that stands out or makes it interesting. It is decorated the same as other Yates’s and has nothing that catches your eye. The atmosphere here is OK, but it can feel a bit cramped and uncomfortable when it is a busy. The bar is well stocked and the staff are friendly and helpful, but that’s the best I can say about the place. In my opinion, don’t bother.

This branch of the Yates’s chain sits waaaaaay up at the top of Allerton Road, just where the bustling mile of shopfronts stops abruptly and is transformed into suburban greenery. It is perhaps this pleasant location that blesses the pub with none of the usual cancerous facets that drag the franchise into the muck. I’m not praising it, by the way. It’s bland as hell. Think of every ‘It-Was-OK-I-Suppose’ pub you’ve ever visited in your life and this is what their offspring would look like. It’s quite clean. There’s a fruit machine. Football is on. It’s the most inoffensive place I’ve ever visited. Maybe if I’d waited until Saturday night I’d’ve been treated to a nice brawl. Alas, I’ve got to scrap a review together from somewhere that clogs my arteries with apathy. Woe is me.

Yates Wine Lodge on Allerton Road is so cheap! Two main meals for less than £5 and buy one dessert get one free. Amazing! That’s just fodd. An Echo Falls bottle of wine costs £4.95. These prices are all day every day. These prices are slightly cheaper than those of the Yates in the city centre. The food isn’t absolutely amazing, it’s not the best you’ll ever have but it is quite tasty and seems less fatty than Wetherspoons. I had a vegetarian enchilada which was very tasty as is the lasagne. The desserts are good as well. Sizable portions. Friendly staff
