Scored one star because at least we were out of the wind. My friend and I chose(really?) to have a drink here while waiting for our lift home after spending an enjoyable couple of hours in The Royal Court. We ordered the same drinks we had enjoyed in the RC but that is we’re any similarity ended. We could not drink the concoctions that were allegedly vodka & slimline tonic and Bacardi & diet coke — had it been earlier in the evening we probably would have returned them — but we wanted to shelter from the wind! I will ask trading standards to visit very soon!

If, for some reason, the fate of the world rested on my getting one more drink before my bus arrived at Queen Square, and said bus was only minutes away, rumbling steadily onward, I’d still think twice about going to this branch of the Yates’s chain. The worst of a bad bunch, I’ve visited the place a few times, for reasons I’m sure were acceptable at the time, and found it to be littered with shredded beer mats on every occasion. Probably the same beer mats. It baffles me why anybody would come here of their own volition and then, tragedy of tragedies, come to the conclusion that it’s actually rather pleasant. I hope one day when they’re old and decrepit, these people look back on what they’ve done and weep with regret.
