4 Plus 1 Coffee

On Sunday, I really wanted a good coffee. Not just a good coffee, but a good coffee experience. As much as I love my regular Java haunts in W9 and Queens Park, I just wanted something different. I decided that as it was a glorious sunny day (still a cold February one though), I would take a long walk in search of a new Java experience.
I headed towards the Ladbroke Grove, Portobello area. I’ve stopped off plenty of times here, but wanted somewhere I had not been to before. I ended up on Golborne Road. It’s usually a bustling market street, but on Sunday, it had a nice quite, serene feel to it, which was much in tune with my mood.
I saw 4 plus 1 coffee, and liked the look of it. It looks more like the type of neighborhood café you would find in the centre of Madrid, rather than London. I liked the fact that there were tables outside, as I wanted to make the most of the sunshine.
On entering the café, I was impressed by the clean and arty décor. I got a very friendly and welcoming greeting as I approached the counter. I ordered my latte, and was told that the drink would be delivered to my table outside. This I liked, as I hate waiting at a counter for a coffee, and then have to hunt for a free table once you get it.
The sandwiches that I saw looked delicious, as did the pastries. They also sell their own, freshly baked artisan bread, which looked very tempting.
My latte was really nice. I enjoyed relaxing outside, and taking in the people strolling up and down Golborne Road. I was thinking, what a great way to kick off a late Sunday morning. I understand that sometimes on a Sunday afternoon, they have live music featuring local musicians. I will definitely come back for that. All in all, it was a great way to start a Sunday. I will return!
I also want to find out why it’s called 4 plus 1, as it’s actually at 108 Golborne Road!
