Really like this place. They renovated in late 2015 and now it’s a cute little spot with some outdoor seating. The iced latte and soy latte are very good. Service is also snappy, but the wait for your drink can be a few minutes when they’re busy, which is almost always. The espresso roast here is just really good and I wish there was a location closer to my office. I mostly come here on weekends. Come here first, then walk around the shops on Redchurch.

Yes… I must agree with the other reviews with one or two stars. Mainly because of two reasons: 1) staff with bad attitude 2) bad black coffee. I thought it was a black lemonade; too sour. If you wanna play arrogant, give us good product. If you can’t do both, charge us the right price. If all fails, then I don’t see the reason why coming here other than the good decorations. Btw I had the mixed plate breakfast… So I’m not here JUST for the coffee and wasting your seats.

A friend of mine comes down from Wales and the first place she always wants to go is AllPress and it’s easy to see why. The coffee is beautiful and the pastries are really lovely too. It is busy here — there’s no denying that. Even when you manage to get a seat you feel people sharking you ready for when you leave but even if you’re just sat outside watching the world go by it’s nice. The iced coffee is especially good here.

If you can get here early enough(literally just after they’ve opened), you’re in with a good change of getting a table inside. If not? Risk it, but don’t be disappointed when it’s so busy the wait just seems a waste of time. There’s no real queuing system when it comes to the tables, so it’s a bit of a free for all — who can dash to the next free table the quickest — sort of deal. That being said, I have been lucky enough to nab one of those coveted tables more than once, and the brunch is always hot, fresh and hits the spot. Poached eggs are perfectly runny and their avocado on toast is pretty delightful. Coffee is one of the best in the area and there’s a little take out nook outside the main shop for those not wanting to join the line inside.

First off, I’m a black coffee no milk, no sugar drinker. If you aren’t then this review will be useless to you. I ventured to this establishment as it provided the outward guise of a knowledgable coffee place, which is probably pretty essential in this insanely pretentious area. I just wanted a strong, dark, non acidic coffee. The attendant(?) suggested a chemex brewed Ethiopian. It took about five minutes, but the end result was a warm light brown acidic mess of dirty water for 3£ which was undrinkable. She used probably ¼ to ½ too little coffee, which is surprising given the price that they’d try and cut corners here. Seriously poor… Won’t be back.

One of the nicest flat whites I have had, yet the place is often very crowded. This means that a seat is quite unlikely and especially unthinkable during peak times.

Order the mixed breakfast plate and a beautifully made coffee from these guys. People watching galore. The real heart of Shoreditch.

I like the vibe here, great people watching spot. I’ll definitely come back to try some other coffees. I ordered a cappuccino that came covered in coco which to me shouldn’t be on there but I have found that more coffeeshops are doing this. My cheese and chive sandwich was a bit to oily for my taste especially for a breakfast sandwich. Quite curious about the filter blend but I’ll come back for that another day. Today the vibe was good but the coffee and sandwich not so much.

Great place to people watch and hand with friends. I went to the side section where they had quick coffees outside, since the crowds at the café tables outside and inside were filled with hip and interesting people. The barista was super nice and chatty. Nothing like some positive energy. Thank you. We chatted and I got my flat white and continued on my way. Don’t half step. Stop here and enjoy a coffee to rest your feet if you are a traveler. There are lots of trees and street art around. Great spot.

Love the interior, love the coffee, love the juice, love the service. Should I say more? Didn’t have any cake, but they looked delicious and amazing! Spacious, airy, actually plenty of fresh air a natural wooden surfaces. BEAUTIFUL space, chilled hangout for sure! And there are few benches outdoors too.

My god I wanted to love Allpress. I’ve heard such good things about it. Well, specifically the coffee. And I will tell you, the coffee is phenomenal. One of the best cups I’ve had in the city. Fresh roasted right there on the spot. Mmm, I got a beautiful cup and it perked me up and I was happy, so happy, to have my meetings there. But then, everything went downhill. Or, if not downhill, slightly sloped downwards. I got a sandwich was… only OK. Good bread but the veggies and pork were a little soggy in the sandwich, but woah, that’s some good ciabatta bread. I do love some good bread, and they nail the bread. However, the one thing that really kept me from loving this place? No. Wifi. No wifi at all. I couldn’t even log on to my BT service since something seemed to be blocking it in the walls. And that’s truly just frustrating, because now I can’t come back here. For work, I take my coffee, take my computer, take a sandwich and get everything I need to done. I’ll even order another drink or two depending on how much I have to do. But when I’d gotten my coffee and my sandwich and sat down, only then I learned this this place blocks it all. I actually felt a little tricked — just a little. I couldn’t even have the meetings I had scheduled there, since we needed Internet to talk and get work done(oh the pains of working for an Internet company.) Does this sound like it’s some sort of hipster rant? Fair enough, I’m owning up to it. But when you do an amazing coffee shop, with giant tables, lots of natural light, delicious coffee and tons of seats, do the whole package guys. I want to recommend people to come to you, not stay away over something as ridiculous as wifi.

I love having Sunday brunch at this place! It is quite casual, with no table service. You line up to order your food and find seating at any of the communal tables. I always get their brunch with egg, toast, avocado, cheese and Jamon. It is super simple but very fresh and delicious. Just the best start to a Sunday. They also have sandwiches and cakes, which I have never tried, but all look quite delicious. This is a truly neighborhood place, as you can see people living nearby coming to eat, meet, read morning papers or work on their computers. Very hipster and fun. Reminds me of cafes in Mission area in San Francisco.

Einer der besten Kaffees, den ich in letzter Zeit gehabt habe. Hippes Lokal mit Leuten, die eindeutig was von Kaffee verstehen. Nebenbei gibt es noch leckere Sandwichs und Kuchen. Top Adresse!

This was our go-to coffee shop when we stayed in Shoreditch. Their Indonesian roast was good, but I wasn’t wowed by it. Service is great and the employees are friendly. I also loved the look of the interior, with wooden high-tops and newspapers and magazines strewn about. They look to have an interesting café food menu as well, though I didn’t have any of the food(was definitely tempted by the pastries though). They also have a walk-up window right next to it, with a single barista and an espresso machine, for quicker service and to reduce crowding.

Tricky one this. On the one hand I had a couple of 1kg bags of their Redchurch blend as guest when I owned a coffee shop and let’s be honest it was easily in the top three blends I’ve ever tried(and I’ve tried maybe 30−40+). So they know how to roast and blend coffee. Service was also friendly and the flat white good enough, tho I feel I did the beans more justice, extracted more depth of flavour, when I had them. That’s the good stuff. But the big bad stuff for me was no wifi because, as it was explained somewhat regretfully by a pleasant member of staff, people used to sit using the wifi and taking space! For me that’s lousy. Coffee shops have to make money, I totally 110% get that, but I was in at lunchtime and the place was less than half full and the seating style could be changed to allow more people. You can also just let people have an allocated amount of time. Coffee and wifi go together these days don’t they? Had I known there was none then I’d have kepot my cash in my pocket. I did like the general décor, cleanliness and vibe, and the coffee was fine and the food looked good, but I would go elsewhere next time I’m in the area … because for me wifi is essential.

Came here and had the worst coffee in a long time: Thin like tea and terribly sour. Maybe it is supposed to be hip brewing coffee this way, but it just tastes terrible, kids! Had to go to Monmouth later to recover.

Wow! I almost went into another café down the street, but the Unilocal reviews were mediocre, and I’m very glad I checked out Allpress instead. I was just looking for a place to chill and have a refreshment in between Columbia Road Flower Market and Old Spitalfields Market, and this was perfect. The idea that it was Kiwi drew me to it even more, since I’m kind of in love with New Zealand. The open brightness and simplicity of the décor matches the Kiwi style. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient. I got a brunch of cherry tomatoes, avocado, cheese, hard-boiled egg, cheese, and toast, and it was all amazing. Half an avocado, tasty cheese and bread, and everything fresh and simple. The combination was perfect, and I was stuffed afterwards. They provide free newspapers and magazines to peruse, so I sat in the corner looking through the window at the massive coffee grinder in the next room, read about a few of the crazy things happening in the world, and was thoroughly entertained for a good while. Along with a glass of amazing iced coffee, I was re-energized and ready to head to another market! And, I may have been slightly excited when I saw Allpress featured in Time Out’s list of best independent coffee shops the very next day. I JUSTWENTTHEREYESTERDAY.

They’re a bit grumpy in there and my innocent query about what to order(what would you recommend?) and how to order as first time in there was met with a blank look and half hearted reply — were given wrong drinks too. However the coffee tasted clean and fresh. I had one of the recommended filter coffees. I’m going to assume that the area calls for aloof service and you better know what you’re doing or else you’re not cool. I’m not cool and thats fine call me out on it… whatever. I’m also quite cheerful with it — that is also fine.

1. Just because you have a shop on Redchurch doesn’t mean you are allowed to be douchebags… no wait… no actually most people here are kind of cool and kind of nice . 2. If coffee is your thing then please do it well. Pay attention to such things milk temperature. I recommend Prufrock, they do excellent workshops on how to do coffee well. They might even send a guy to train your staff if you ask nicely. 3. Just don’t be douches. It might tickle your ego but in reality no one wins.

Wow. Frischer Kaffe, frische heisse Schokolade, einfach lecker.

I think I’m too spoilt by the coffee shops in Vancouver ;) This for sure was a decent enough coffee, cool hipster part of town… Large premises, so plenty of seats inside and out. But it would not be enough to lure me back here. Also took forever and a day to make 2 flat whites for take away, with no acknowledgement about the delay or wait. Not sure how successful this sort of place would be in Vancouver with such fierce competition.

If you love your coffee filthy strong, Allpress Espresso is the place to go. I take a beeline to this corner café very time I am in the area. No matter what day of the week or time or day, the place is always buzzing. I love the fact that they roast coffee on site and even more that you can buy the empty sacks(tip for gardeners: perfect for storing leaf mulch) for £1 with the proceed going to charity. Everything is a bit on the dear side and quality of service can vary, but mostly it’s a welcoming and friendly place.
