Short review on this one would be that what it loses on food it makes up for on atmosphere! A basic café with a slight Turkish slant. They serve all the usual café fare, right up to bubble and squeak, but also ‘Turkish soup’ and ‘Turkish rice’. I didn’t get the chance to establish what that means.
The stuff we had was definitely straight from the local supermarket, including powdered hot chocolate and a friend’s portion of apple pie (which came smothered in packet mix custard, which he hadn’t been asked if he wanted). Nothing wrong with it, but nothing special from what I saw. Maybe the speciality dishes were better. There was some confusion over drinks as well. Not brilliant as we hadn’t ordered that much.
But it was all so good humoured and friendly, and served amid garish normal decorations, overlaid with Christmas decorations. You couldn’t help but relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
