Aperture always seem to have an item that I’m always on the look out for. For example, I was here the other week and I’ve purchased yet another powerful Nikon SB600 flashgun. And a couple of months ago, I needed a special set of Nikon batteries and lucky for me they had them in stock. Richard, the Bloomsbury Retail Manager, is always very honest with me, before I’m making a purchase of Nikon and other photography/camera related goods. Patrick & Richard from Aperture Photographic always demonstrate the best retail customer service at a personal and professional level. And if you are looking for retro Nikon cameras from the past, then I would definitely recommend Aperture Photographic, either in Bloomsbury or Fitzrovia. As of January 2015, this shop branch of Aperture Photograhic, no longer deals with Nikon and Leica cameras and lenses. During the Christmas Holidays 2014, both the Aperture Photographic shops were in the process of swapping round, all of their stuff from Museum Street to Rathbone Place. However, if there is anything you are looking for, the retail staff of Aperture Photographic are always willing and happy to help.

I have now purchased 4 Nikon lenses and traded 3 in, and have always received fantastic service from Richard, Patrick or Howard. I have either been to the shop or just phoned them. They are extremely helpful, reliable and more than happy to reserve a lens for a week or two. In respect of the grading, when they say mint, they mean it. My last purchase, Nikon 105 mm f2.8 came in the original box, with full documentation and is perfect! It also comes with 6 months warranty The one star review must be a complete aberration, which is not in keeping with the service that I have received. Just go and have a look– right behind the British Museum. My rating is 5* +

Very nice combination: a café with a very relaxed and interesting atmosphere, largely due to the extensive array of used equipment, including lots of Nikon and Leica gear, but also some MF stuff. And not garbage, mind you, they have real pearls! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I’ll be back :)

Was looking for a great place to for a Nikon FM2 and stumbled upon these guys. The shop is in Totenham court road and attached to the shop is a great little café toward the back of the room. They carry a huge range of classic Nikon SLRs ranging from the Nikon F’s to the great FM2s and FM3s. You’ll find that the cameras are all in great condition and if you’re like me, you’ll oogle at the Leica glasscase on display when you first walk in. All the used kit comes with a 6 month warranty, so you needn’t worry too much — one of the last great classic camera shops in the city, viva la film man.

Superb selection of secondhand cameras — mainly NIkon and Leica. Very friendly and helpful staff — they’re always happy to let you play with any equipment before you buy. When I bought a secondhand DSLR, they threw in a spare battery and some software. ANd to top it off, there’s a great coffee shop in the back. Recomended!
