Location wise it’s in the middle of a retail park sharing with about another 10 food outlets plus a cinema so it’ll probably never be empty nor jam packed. The good thing is that they accept Tastecard with no advance booking required! That would be reason alone for me to steer towards them over the other food places. Service was attentive, cheerful, food arrived fairly quickly. Surprisingly the only issue was trying to get the bill/pay! They were so busy serving other tables(there were only 4 tables) that strangely even the death stare method didn’t work. Ended up had to use the hand up method. Not ideal. for a fairly quiet weeknight. Food was great, I like seafood dishes so I had the calamari starters, seafood risotto main(and given the choice I probably would have gone for a seafood dessert too!) plus a cheesecake dessert. I’d recommend the starter & main… the dessert was rather ordinary.

I won’t give ASK a one star rating, because it wasn’t horrible and we didn’t get sick. But that’s about the best thing I can say about this place. We saw that they had rather low Unilocal reviews, but none of them were terrible, and were right by ASK, and they were open. So why not. Worth a try. The interior does indeed look like a cheap interior design store, IKEA-ish, with an odd display of kitchen utensils. We started our meal with garlic cheese bread, which turned out to be a pizza base with a pitiful amount of cheese only in the center(so it was terribly dry), and a very strange fake garlic flavor that could best be described as reminiscent of that flavor and smell you experience when you drink water form a brand new rubber garden hose on a hot day. Our main courses were not much better. My pasta was utterly bland, in a flavorless, thick cream sauce with flavorless ham and peas. A dish that reminds one of the old stereotypes about English cooking; stereotypes that I like to tell myself are no longer accurate, though ASK is working hard to prove me wrong. Took forever to get the bill, but that gave us ample time to decide that we’re never coming back here.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant for a meal. The staff was really friendly. We got seated immediately taking into consideration that it was a friday night and valentines day and we didnt book in advance. We wanted a glass of wine but we weren’t sure which one to order so the waitress let us try a few before ordering. And the food arrived very quickly. For starter I had calmari which was okay a bit too heavy for a starter and my boyfriend had bruchetti which was again very big for a starter. For mains we ordered salad with goat cheese and pizza calzone. The food was okay. I give the food 3 stars and the customer service 4 stars.

ASK me if I like it? I like. I crave pasta! This place has pasta. This works for me. I ordered the fettucine bolognese, my ultimate comfort food, and found myself feeling pretty comforted. Another time I tried the fettucine con verdure, which was decent and I appreciated the vegetables but I prefer a pasta with more sauce, so I didn’t like it as much as the bolognese. My husband always has the pizza here, which from the slices I steal, I can tell you has a tasty crust and is good. He also likes the Sicilian lemonade here which I think is just okay. The calamari appetiser here was surprisingly great, all yummy breaded goodness with garlic mayo dipping sauce. I tried the prawn appetiser as well but didn’t really like it. For dessert, I have had the tiramisu, which was a mediocre and mostly tasted of chocolate. It is not bad, but I think of it more as something to satisfy a chocolate craving rather than a proper tiramisu. The service is friendly and willing to let you linger over your meal, which is nice. ASK is a chain and as you would expect, it is decent, but not a really special place to go or a place you adore. Still, I appreciate a reasonable place to get my fix when I crave pasta, so ASK is a place I might need:)

Well I know you can’t really expect much from a branch of ASK especially one that is situated in a leisure park/cinema complex but it really is pretty bad. We were in a rush and just stopped in for a quick bite to eat otherwise I would’ve run a mile when I saw the group of about 30 screaming kids(literally screaming at times too) it was deafening. Team that with the cold cavernous space it is located in and the noise was incredible. The staff were very freindly and attentive and the food was ok, Calzone was a bit nothingy until I found what must’ve been a handful of fresh Jalapeño peppers hidden inside. A bit much to be considered piccante, more diavolo or molto caldo at the very least, luckily I like chilli because if not it would’ve made it inedible. All in all it was distinctly average but for a beer and a pizza ASK serves its purpose. However I won’t be going back to this one, the place in Whetstone is far nicer with a lot less noise, that is far more conducive to the novel idea of being able to hear what people are saying to you.

What have they done with this place? Turned it into an ikea showroom it seems. Its now so much colder looking and service needs improvement although the staff were super friendly, they got the orders wrong. Plus side is free parking and cute wine glasses.

An Italian chain restaurant that offers a variety of pizza and pasta dishes. The salads on offer are a limited but the dessert menu makes up for this! Lots of parking as it’s located on a leisure park. The service is initially very fast, I’ve never waited more than a minute or two to be seated, but after that you have to work to get the staffs attention. Nice food at a reasonable price.
