BHS has been in West Ealing for a very long time and I have found some really nice clothes for work, casual and partywear and and homeware items in there over the years, also some decent quality footwear who not only look nice but are well made too. Sadly West Ealing is such a place that the £1 shops seem to have taken over along with cash converter type stores and charity shops so I fear BHS might go the same way as M&S and WHSmith over the years, closing down and getting out of this run down area. Sadly the customer service at the tills is rather lacking in store too. Queues of 15 – 20 people are not uncommon when I’ve been in the store and even though the individual concessions within the store such as Wallis and Dorothy Perkins seem to be well manned with at least 1 security guard always around near the front door(polite and friendly even though they always are), the actual tills need to be operated more efficiently. I’ve been waiting in queues before with the staff chit chatting amongst themselves with no care for the fact that they should be calling the next custmer over to be served. Not that they’re unpleasant or unfriendly when you do actually get served, just VERYSLOW! Please buck up your ideas BHS as I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s given up the idea of buying a couple of items when I’ve seen how long the queue is and how few people are manning the tills! I have to add that it’s been far more interesting to shop at BHS in West Ealing since they brought the concessions in, such as Wallis, which I love and the sales are really good, you can get some fabulous bargains but the service is still slow, they have no such thing as air-conditioning and it’s really not conducive to a good shopping environment if you want to run out of a store due to it being so hot and they still can’t sort out enough staff to man the tills.
