Bain and Gray

I have dealt with Bain and Gray on a number of occasions now and from a client view point they are a joy to deal with. It is great to find a recruitment agency that works so hard in finding high quality candidates that are a good fit for our business. I have dealt with a number of agencies in the past who seem happy to send across every CV they receive in the hope that you might interview some of them. Bain and Gray are the polar opposite of this only sending me CVs that matched my rather demanding outline. Recommended.

The website claims they are professional and friendly in fact, all the usual stuff. However, when they recently advised on their website for temporary PAs, I applied and sent my CV and covering letter. I might add that I am a professional and qualified PA with many years’ experience. However, I got a very rude and patronising email back from their office manager saying that they have far too many applications all the time and can’t possibly register every person who comes along. This is probably true, but if you don’t want applications then do not advertise! It is quite simply really.
All in all, another agency that claims to be different and more professional than other agencies in the business, yet are just so up themselves.
Well, a close friend of mine who works in HR told me afterwards that she finds this agency very difficult to deal with and was thinking about dropping them from her list. After I showed her my application and their response, she has done just that. They have just lost a client and agencies should think twice about possible consequences before they treat potential candidates so rudely. If you treat someone badly, you just don’t know who that person might know.
