History
Established in 1997.
The restaurant opened its doors in September 1997 with a décor depicting the essence of Bamboula’s original home — the Caribbean. The company was born in Walkerswood, where a community of 1500 people reside in the mountains of St Ann in Jamaica .
Over the years, Walkerswood — a company committed to using Jamaican ingredients — has connected with British consumers and Caribbean workers alike, largely due to the authenticity of its food.
Walkerswood started out with five workers who would grill marinated meat in a garage over a fire-pit of pimento wood, then sell it on to local bars. But today, the global company supplies pepper sauces to supermarkets across the Caribbean, Europe, North America and South Africa .
The Walkerswood and Bamboula relationship is a unique one. It has not only connected rural development in Jamaica with consumer power abroad, but it has also played a vital role in UK consumers experiencing food that is authentically Caribbean — and tastes good!
