I love Bombay Basement! Definitely think it is the best curry place in the area, and in my opinion in London but this may be helped by the fact that it’s just round the corner from my house. The food is great, I’ve been there loads of times and never had a bad experience. The staff are really friendly too and are happy to help you choose a dish to your tasting. It also stays open to reasonably late which is good for an after the pub meal.

The menu was a bit overwhelming, looked something like 100+ dishes. I tried the chicken tikka from the clay oven menu. veeeeery juicy and tender, and a lamb tikka dish as well, a curry dish that came with a naan. Almost everyone cleared their plates — a good sign. The only thing I didn’t like was the side dish we got, a green vegetarian dish with corn. The dishes were average priced, £7−9. Service was decent, a bit slow to get the bill, but not really an issue. Got a hot towel for our hands after the meal, a nice touch. Comparable to Brick Lane Indian food without the hassle of going east, not too bad!
