Opened in 2005 by award winning actress and former make up artist Kazia Pelka, Dr. Boo quickly gained an impressive reputation with praise heaped upon it by the Daily Mail, Evening Standard and Time Out Magazine; most recently ‘Dr.Boo — Best waxers south of the river’ — Nov. 2012 Time Out Magazine.

Dr Boo is prettiness all over. I’d admired its candy cute shop front many times on my travels up and down North Cross Road but, not being one for expensive posh toiletries, had never felt the urge to go inside. Then a few Sundays ago, coasting on a post-​brunch haze of Blue Mountain coffee some friends and I stumbled in there to have a little peek at their wares and a most pleasant time was had by all.
Everything’s laid out on tables and shelves that could sit nicely in your living room, so I quickly felt at home — a subtle trick that had me (a fairly ungirly-​girl with absolutely no intention of buying anything) sighing over pretty pink packaging and even complaining to my mates that, as none of us are pregnant, none of us could have the superdupercute pregnancy gift set of lovely creams and lotions and whatnot.
Yep, time to leave!

Dr Boo is a stylish beauty emporium that brings you quality products without the pretentious jargon that often surrounds beauty care. Not quite old fashioned neither is it a modern shop, just simple, classy and special.
Dr Boo stocks nicer but less well known make-​up and cosmetics ranges, facial and body care products. The staff are hugely helpful but not so in an overpowering and pushy way.
For much needed self indulgent TLC, you are sure to find everything you are looking for in Dr Boo.
