I came here with Julia D and her parents on a Monday night after seeing that this place had good reviews. We were all blown away by the food and the friendly atmosphere. I went for the classic combo of Bruschetta with spaghetti bolognaise which was delicious, everyone ordered something different and there were no complaints. There was someone’s birthday that night so around 9pm the staff turned the lights off and started signing and playing loud instruments. The bill came with limoncello and cookies! I’ll definitely be back but probably not on my birthday.

I saw this place had great reviews so I came here last week with my parents and husband. I was blown away by the food and atmosphere. The owner was a very fun Italian dude. He kept the music really fun. We ordered tomato, fresh mozzarella, and avocado salad; eggplant Parmesan; and bruschetta as appetizers. They were all delicious. I got a vegetarian pasta for a main. Totally perfect. The check came with almond cookies and limoncello. I will definitely be coming back for my birthday because they turn off all the light and sing to you while playing bizarre instruments.

Buccis is a family favourite of ours and is always my mums number one request when she visits London. They provide authentic Italian food with fantastic service at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is lovely and there is a lot of variety on the menu to satisfy everyone’s cravings!

One of the best most authentic Italian places I have been to in London, The food is wow, the portions are huge when ordering the pasta dishes, I had the King prawn salad which tasted fresh, my boyfriend had the spaghetti which like i said was huge, but the real great thing about this place is the service and atmosphere, the guys are all Italian, full of energy and make you have the best night ever in such a small intimate place in Balham that you would never expect to be there.

We went to Bucci for a pre-wedding festivity when we were in town and were totally blown away– best Italian food I’ve ever had! We had multiple appetizers that I couldn’t keep count of, but that were all just amazing; the fried risotto balls were just short of decadent and the little pizza squares were perfect with the never-ending wine. We all chose from a pre-set menu and my husband and I enjoyed the prosciutto e melone(I’ll be attempting this simple but delicious dish at home now!) and the caprino panato, which was fried goat cheese with frisee and red onion compote. I could have died and gone to heaven right then, but then I would have missed the frutti di mare… Let me be clear, I am a sucker for frutti di mare, if I find it I will eat it no questions asked what else there is to order. This was as good or better than the frutti di mare at Atlanta’s Sotto Sotto and as much as I enjoyed all the food that came before it, I was sad I’d eaten it because the portion was huge and I couldn’t finish it! Husband had the salmone alla griglia and it was perfect– tender, moist, and not too salmony with some very yummy veggies on the side. We also tasted some of the petto di pollo alla contessa, penne bucci, spaghetti bolognese, and the calamari fritti and avocado con gamberetti all of which were top notch. Dessert was also delicious– I had a panna cotta with fresh berries and I’m drooling now just thinking of it. I can’t recommend Bucci highly enough, it’s a great atmosphere(intimate and friendly) with fantastic staff and an owner who is passionate about his restaurant, his food, and his neighbors!

One of the worst Italian places I have been to. Went there with couple of my friends, I had a chicken dish and my friends had pasta. Both turned out to be awful. Chicken was dry; cooked the hell out of it. The pasta dish was dry and tasteless. Made it all worse with the dessert. Crème brule … or was it something else I wondered. The core of the dish was still ide cold; so it came out of freezer! And the topping was still raw sugar that too big granules! One of my friend went for Tiramisu; never seen one like that before! and tasted bad. Then to try and win over a shot each of limoncello … hm. I have had limoncello before and this one tasted something else … I cant even name it! I would stay away from anything named Bucci!

Ok, so this is my type of Italian. Walk in and you are greated with Bouna sera, the smell of pizza and the sound of an espresso machine. Went on Sunday for their £14.50 Sunday lunch — fantastic value. The antipasti was simple but delicious. Real highlight was the rolled anchovies in breadcrumbs. Each say on a bay leaf which had heavily flavoured the oily little fish — yum! Mains were classic Italian tratoria fare, lovely baked pasta dishes like veal and tomatoes or cannelloni. I had the later and wished I had served myself more. Desserts were simple, although I was a bit bummed at the lack of tiramisu. I have been working my way around the tiramisus of the world since my first encounter in Italy so am a very boring guest at an Italian dinner if I don’t get it. I had canoli, which were perfect. Overall, love the atmosphere(think kids covered in tomato sauce) nonnas chowing down on risotto, and lots of normal 30s folk enjoying good comfort food and comfort prices. Service was wonderfully friendly and attentive. I will be back!
