This park has been remodelled in the last few years and it’s beautifully maintained. Love the lake, the rare water birds and general atmosphere. There’s a big barbecue zone too. You can get lost in the winding corners. Considering the actual size it is, it packs a punch!

Lovely, huge park with loads of different independent areas. This includes a pond with adjacent bbq area, tennis courts, outdoor gym and a bmx track. It even has it’s own canel bridge(but no canel!) Lovely park for both groups and families, especially on a nice sunny day. Just don’t bring too many people — we don’t want it to get too nusy, do we? :p

This park is huge! The little pond they have is really relaxing and nice to look at if you’re running or on a bike. This park is perfect for active people or parents with children. This park also has a BMX track, which looks like a lot of fun! I enjoy coming here to take a break from school work and exploring.

I had no idea 1) how big or 2) how gorgeous Burgess Park was until last week. Finding myself cycling home along Old Kent Road in the baking sunshine and in need of a spot of greenery, I veered off in to the tatty Pecklham end of it and was wide eyed with surprise to discover, yes, just how big and gorgeous it is! The pond is one of the most beautiful spots, set in front of a posh old building with the sun glinting off it and fishing tents lined up at the water’s edge. You can go right up to the water which must be a little scary if you have kids, but I like that it’s not fenced off. Further towards Camberwell are vast expanses of grass for playing, hanging and sunbathing plus lots of nice shady bits under trees. I’m going to bring a book and a flask of squash here one day soon and soak in the ambience of this unexpected haven between Peckham and Camberwell.

A great fishing spot right in the heart of London, but don’t just cast your rod you need a permit. Permits cost £2.60 for a day permit or £52 for an annual permit. They can be bought from the Park Manager located in Chumleigh Gardens or call 02075251065. It is also a great picnic and sports park as well… But the children’s play area isn’t the best and there is no off leash area for the dogs…
