As this is local to my house, I thought Id drop in to try the fish and chips on Friday.
I was really disappointed. The chips were cold and undercooked, not browned or crispy or steaming in any way. The cod was a very thin piece, dry old, soggy batter, possibly the worst fish and chips for some years in the capital. Cost 5.80 with a portion of curry sauce they made in the microwave whilst I was there and was the nicest part of the meal.
Fish and chips is an expensive deal these days, so I think its important to get it right.
I will not be going back there.

I used to love this place. I used to get a bag of fat chips all the time from this shop and struggle to eat it even with someone helping me now as inflation rises and the credit crunch has become reality I can easily eat the whole bag of chips with my belly still grumbling for more food! They have seriously decreased the portions and I have noticed that it’s under new management I think so the new owners may just be stingy. It’s a shame though because I found this was the best place to go for fat chips n the area before.

Nice fish’n’chip shop at the top end of Walthamstow Market, near to the station. Sells a good range of fried items at reasonable prices.
