I am updating this review after a most disappointing visit today. I go in here to take a long leisurely amble around the cheese selection, tasting and discussing everything with the experts behind the counter. However, today there was an extremely grumpy man behind the counter who when I asked him to recommend a good strong cheddar, simply said: «There are loads of Cheddars at the end, take your pick». Well, the reason I asked was to get an expert recommendation, not to simply pick one out of several by chance. There was no one else in the shop, so it wasn’t as if they were over run with other customers. I will probably try this place again, but it has been a little soured for me!

Nice posh cheese shop. Great selection of fromage at the prices you would expect. I also picked up one of their giant ciabatta loaves which look stunning but was disappointedly quite dry. They sell proper samosas too which are delicious.

Brilliant, brilliant, potentially lethally expensive place — top quality cheeses of all varieties including a large and very clearly labelled vegetarian selection. At an average of £2.00 per 100g this level of quality doesn’t come cheap but we all know you get what you pay for. Staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, so if you tell them what sort of cheese you like they’ll suggest a few things for you to try. I’d love to return to this shop with £20 devoted solely to the purchase of a mighty fine cheeseboard to share with friends, but I might have to make do with the odd chunk of this and that instead.

Great cheese selection and really helpful staff. You can taste anything before buying in fact it is encouraged. The shop is really lovely with other gorgeous deli items as well as cheeses.

The Cheese Block smells like a giant cheese block and sells giant cheese blocks. It is a small store that has blocks of posh and not so rare organic cheese for sale at decent to slightly expensive prices(£1-£10 per block). You can find anything related to cheese in this shop; crackers, vinegars, oils. They are very knowledgeable about their products and can convert you into a dairy connoisseur if you’re not careful.

As you would expect, this is the place to go for cheese as well as so much more. If you get there early enough in the day you can pick up delicious stuffed roti, samosas and ciabatta but the demand is high and they quickly sell out. The cheese selection unsurprisingly steals all the thunder. Other than a trip to France, I doubt that you will be able to find such choice and quality. To complete the list and tick all the boxes, The Cheese Block boasts fantastic meringues, baklava, fresh bread and an epicurean selection of condiments and confectionery. Should every shop not be like this?

This shop has a fantastic range of cheese from around Britain and Europe. The staff are helpful and happy to provide advice and samples to try. They also sell a range of other deli type products.

This shop provides and specialises in cheese. By cheese I do not mean a few range of cheese, but atleast 300 different types of cheese. I always stuck to the usual fake cheese sold in supermarkets, but then I come across the cheese shop and I was mind blown. They have a huge selection of cheeses for all taste buds, occasions, foods etc that you will be suprised. This is a truelly special shop and if you visited france, italy or germany you will understand me as you don’t get much shops in london specialising in cheese, real cheese:)
