Picture the scene, it’s Valentines day 2016, you have set the restaurant up for all the lovely couples who might want to wander in for some romantic Italian food when suddenly a small horde of 20-somethings barge in after having seen Deadpool and had a few drinks demanding sustenance. You would be quite within your right to turn them away. But that’s not Chiccos style. Chiccos will move tables around for you so that you can sit together, then give you so much pizza that you have to roll out of the door. They do good pizza to, I’m not usually a fan of Italian style but this was delicious. They catered for a rowdy bunch of walk-ins on the day they expected to have only loved up couples. Though the choice of music was strange for the season we were singing along quite happily. If you were any of the other people in the restaurant for the 2 hours we were, I’m so sorry. I’m tone deaf, it’s a curse.

Come here often on my lunch break and Chiccos is one of the best pizza places I know in London! Great, personal service and fantastic pizzas. Definitely try the calzone! It’s a beast, and during lunch time you can get any pizza for around £7.50 which is a great deal as they are huge and will definitely fill you up. Another favourite of mine is the Parma pizza, which comes with generous amounts of Parma ham, and the spaghetti carbonara is ginormous and delicious as well.

We’re back on the trail of the perfect pizza. Chicco’s is your average Italian restaurant, but the Meat Feast Pizza has been by far the best I have tried in London so far. Wood Fired pizza baked to perfection. My friend had tortelloni in a cream and mushroom sauce. The pasta was a little undercooked, but the sauce was excellent.

The pizza here is great value at lunch. Pizza and a soft drink is only £7, but it can be a bit slow at times. The 4 cheese is always perfect, whilst others can be a little under cooked. The crust is tasty and never burned, which is something to be grateful of from wood fired ovens in London.

The prawn cocktail here was to die for. That’s all I had so is all I can really comment on food wise but it was gorgeous!!! Also they were really friendly guys running it!

Only come here if you are curious as to how it is possible to impart ingredients with less than their inherent flavour following immolation in a wood-fired oven! Seriously, stopped here before a gig at Koko and left wishing I had gotten a kebab or fried chicken simply as the grease would have tasted of SOMETHING courgette fritters — no salt… no dip… no, really Mozzarella Tomato Anchovy… but the pizza tasted of NOTHING AND there was no black pepper on offer, just bland chilli oil– HOWCANYOUMAKECHILLIOILBLAND?! Not going back — its not bad enough for a one-star rating but I reckon 1.5 is correct

It’s not often I feel moved to write a review on the internet but I’m still seething at the treatment I received here last week. They had their pasta and drink offer written on a sandwich board sign outside. On one side was written, «Pizza or pasta and drink £6.50.» On the other side of the sign the same was written but with the words, «12−3 only» in very small writing. Coming from the direction we did, we obviously only saw the side advertising the meal without the condition, but no make sure, when we got in, we asked the waitress serving us if the 6,50 deal was still on. She said it was. However, when we went to pay, the owner tried to charge us full price. When we explained the above, he first of all blamed the waitress and brought her over to shout at her in front of everyone– very unprofessional. He then started getting angry at my girlfriend and I for daring to question him, even though he’d acknowledged we made a mistake. He took us out to the sign and got so angry shouting at us on the street that he actually KICKED his own sign in front of us. I’ve genuinely never seen anything like it before. After he had roared, «What do you want me to do?» several times but refused to give us our money back, we left, watched by a small group who had gathered to watch this maniac shout at the two of us. Avoid like the plague– the owner is an unprofessional, insulting conman with no manners.

This really isn’t somewhere you’d go for dinner. It is, however, a fantastic place to drop in and pick up a pretty authentic Italian-style pizza for surprisingly little. Ingredients aren’t fantastic quality, but for £6 for a four cheese pizza(I think!) it’s infinitely better than ordering anything from any of the usual suspects if you’re looking for a pizza take away. Only took about 5 minutes for them to cook the pizza and box it up to go as well.

Went to Chicco’s for lunch today and took advantage of their pizza & soft drink for £6.50 deal(looking at the previous review it seems inflation’s hit hard here!). The restaurant(more café-like really) doesn’t look great from the outside but inside is comfortable and the service is polite and efficient. The pizzas are huge(I still have 1⁄3 in a box on my desk as I couldn’t finish mine) and the wood-fired base is about as thin and crispy as any pizza I’ve found in any restaurant(including those in Italy). The ingredients used on the toppings clearly aren’t of the very best quality and the dried oregano has been scattered far too liberally, but it still tastes pretty decent and that wonderful base certainly goes some way to making up for other sins! With some better ingredients and a little more care in toppings, Chicco’s could be a real contender in London’s pizza war. As it is, it makes for a nice lunch!

I went here for dinner. Good dough, the cheese was nice but halfway though eating the Calzone it was already cold and rubbery. The tomato sauce was a little too watery and I wasn’t a huge fan of the large number of DeNiro posters on all the walls. The bar looked nice, and the service was excellent though, and the location is good if you’re going out in Camden. The atmosphere was quite nice, with candle lighting softening up the rough edges. I’d rate it higher, but the food itself didn’t blow me away.

Chicco’s is an Italian Restaurant on Camden High Street. This is a really nice place to go for lunch. At lunchtime they do a meal deal for £5.50 where you can get a pizza and a drink or a pasta and drink. It is always busy so make sure you book or get there before the lunchtime rush.

Went to Chicco’s for a quick bite to eat before a concert last week. With the selection around Camden Koko resembling a myriad of kebab shops and fried chicken outlets, a genuine pizzareia was a sight for sore eyes. Don’t be put off by the awful signage, it belies what’s really on offer inside, which is good quality wood fired pizzas(I know it was definitely wood fired, as there was a stack of logs on the way to the bathroom). Service was a little slow, but it was a Friday night, and the waitresses were pleasant and helpful. I ordered a pizza with aritchokes, ham, mushrooms and salami, it was delicious. A very thin base, lots of toppings, although some of the cheese was a little bland, a touch of freshly ground black pepper soon sorted it out. My friend had a calzone which was the size of her head. She enjoyed it, although it did look like an effort to finish. The ambience is pretty good, tables are a little crammed together, and when we arrived there were several couples occupying four seater tables. It wasn’t a problem though as the waitress kindly and politely asked one of the couples if she could split the table. Maybe it would be better to sit couples on two seater tables from the off. I can never understand why couples want a four seater anyway, what do you need the extra space for, your ego? Photos on the wall are from 20th century marfia /new york classic films, so don’t be surprised if you see Al Pacino staring down at you whilst you tuck into your garlic bread. Anyhoo. A great place to grab a bit before a concert at Koko. And to be honest the pizza was so light it didn’t stop me bopping along to the music once I got inside.

Me and some friends visited Chicco’s — Camden High Street, last week. We were all very disappointed. On arriving, we were seated and then asked what we wanted after only seeing the menu for less than a minute. First impressions: The place has a very workers café feel to it and that is the category I would place it in, definately not a restaurant. Horrible seating. The restaurant was extremely hot but instead of switching on the A/C they insisted on leaving the main door open. This resulted in such loud noise from traffic from the main street outside we could barely hear ourselves think. Awful. For starters I had bruschetta. This would have been lovely, but it was spolit by them using cheap not even red tomatoes. But, worse was yet to come. This ITALIAN restaurant committed the biggest sin of all. They served our pasta dishes SOGGY. All of our pasta’s were overcooked. We were debating whether to send them all back but we just wanted to eat and leave. The only good thing about the dishes, was the sauces were delicious — and that is the only reason I am awarding this restaurant 2 stars. After finishing our mains, we were not even offered a dessert menu. None of us particularly wanted one, but it would have been nice to have been offered one. And Finally. When it came to paying our bill. I gave them my credit card. I was expecting the waitress to bring over a mobile card reader as is now standard, but no. She took it away with her to an ancient till. Then she came back and said the card doesn’t work, and I clearly knew the card was fine. So, I gave her a different card and this time I had to leave the table to enter my pin at the main till. Still no joy. So, I just paid the whole bill in cash. Quite appalling. Camden has very few nice restaurants so we ended up coming here mostly through lack of choice. But, we will not be returning.
