This may be the worst food I’ve had during my 8 months in London. I got the chicken with thick dry fried noodle(recently«put on the menu because so many customers requested it»). I should’ve known to keep on walking when I went in at noon and there wasn’t a soul in the place, but it was a takeaway joint so I figured I’d give then the benefit of the doubt. I only had a card, no cash, but there was a £9 minimum for using my card. I should have ran. Fast. Instead, I ordered two spring rolls and a coke to get me up to the minimum. When it came 5 – 6 minutes later, I thought«brilliant it was so fast!» I asked if there was any dipping sauce for my spring rolls. The guy said no. Now I know why. It comes with its own: grease. I walked to the park, sat in the sun, and whipped out one of my gigantic spring rolls. It was absolutely dripping in grease. The little paper bag they were in was soaked and there was a pool of grease at the bottom of the bag. Nevertheless, I thought it might at least give me one savoury bite. Not so. On the first bite, I got a mouthful of greasy beansprouts, one tiny prawn that tasted horrible(I had to look at it to see what it was), and a blob of veins(see pic). I’ve had a lot of spring rolls in my life. These were the worst ever. The noodles weren’t much better. The container was packed tightly so there was a substantial amount, but the«thick» noodles were no wider than spaghetti. They were also greasy and the only vegetables in the container where are some white and green onions and again, the greasy beansprouts. I ate a few bites since I was starving but quickly felt disgusting and threw the rest out. I have half a mind to walk back to the restaurant, hand the guy behind the counter his bag of grease, and walk out. Demanding my money back is also crossing my mind, but right now, I’m just trying not to vomit. Actually, that might make me feel better. One star is more than this place deserves, at least in my experience. The can of Coke was the only redeeming factor.

Terrible place to eat at! The food was not fresh at all! Would not go again, real waste of money

If I could give this business 0 stars I would! My suggestion is to look at the dates of the reviews below — as they are more than 2 and a half years old. They must have new management, or just don’t care these days! We ordered the spring rolls — these came deeply battered, soggy, fatty and had very little filling. We also chose the rice and chicken curry, it was bland, tasteless, the vegetables were disgusting and the sauce was gloopy, sickly and tasted like old gravy. the chicken was just full of gristle. After a few mouthfuls of the above, whilst we were hungry, we threw this away, although felt sick from this though to the next morning. It left a horrible taste and the grease from this was just revolting. The guy serving us was also very rude, wouldn’t allow us a glass of water while we waited(even with us having a water container so all he needed to do was put this under a tap), and was extremely curt with us. A complete waste of money and a complete waste of food cooked extremely badly. I wouldn’t go back even if you paid me!

Considering there are no reviews for a number of years, I can only guess this takeaway ‘authentic’(Says so on the sign) Chinese is under a different management from the one that received good reviews in the past. Having lived in China for several years and being a big fan of authentic Chinese food, I already have extremely low expectations of most takeaway places in the UK. This place has achieved the honour of being the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. If the cook is Chinese, he must have instructions to underwhelm customers.

Consistently good chinese that has been here many years. I come here occasionally as the takeways are excellent and the staff very friendly. There is akso seating while you wait-and the service very quick. You can also order ahead n the phone and pick up later.

Walking home from the Overground late last night, I had realized I hadn’t had dinner, yet. I passed 2 kebab shops, but that wasn’t what I was after. I was planning on just hitting up Tesco, but I saw this little Chinese shop was open til midnight. I asked for a recommendation, and I ended up getting crispy spicy beef and egg fried rice. It was delicious, and a pretty good bargain for around 6 pounds. And it only took about 5 minutes to make. Went back the next night with some friends for a variety of dishes, and we enjoyed almost everything. Check my pictures to see all the wonderful stuff we got! I also showed the guys that worked there Unilocal and told them about all of the good comments they’ve received. It’s nice to share a little bit of Unilocal love!

This little gem is a family owned delight in the world of takeaway Chinese. The staff is always friendly, and it does not take long to get known as a regular. They don’t deliver, but if you live in the area it can become a staple. The food is good, and consistent. Give it a try if you are around Caledonian Rd and I’m sure you’ll agree.

My local chinese take away for over two years. A fantastic array of different chinese dishes. I recommend the peking style spare ribs. The place has been newly renovated. The orders do not take too long and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also offer meal deals for 1 person, 2 people or more.
