Warning: This club is definitely not for the faint-hearted. There’s no censorship, and the music is strictly alternative/industrial. If you’re not into the goth/rock/fetish scene then brace yourself. The first time I went to Club AC I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the moment I stepped inside I loved it. It’s not like any other club I’ve ever been to, it’s so open and accepting of so many types of people, it’s brilliant. I thought I’d be intimidated, but it was completely the opposite, and it made a nice change from regular clubs. Aside from some stairs to get to the club floor, everything’s on the same level [this is important as nearly everyone’s wearing New Rocks/killer heels/massive boots]. There are a few different rooms, and there’s no obligation to see any of the very explicit stuff at the club. I didn’t venture into the Dungeon/Playroom until my fourth visit there, same with the couple’s dark room. If you just want to dance, then you’re able to without witnessing any hardcore debauchery. As ‘scary’ or different as some people may look, everyone is always really lovely, and I’ve never felt uncomfortable. The club isn’t usually packed, and there’s space to breathe which is also good, especially if you’re in your tight leathers/rubber. The bar is a bit pricey, but then this is London. Get there early for the happy hour, and you’ll be fine. Same goes for getting tickets, the Early Bird tickets are way cheaper than buying on the door, so make sure you plan ahead! The website is a good indicator of what to expect, and the FAQs are extensive, so head there for a better idea. Hope to see you there!
