A right shame this has gone under, as last time I came they played LCD Soundsytem and gave me a free coffee.(so bias)

:(Why have you closed the door on my heart? Oh wait, what’s that? You’ve moved just down the street to 157 Brick Lane? Ok fine. You’re worth the walk.

The Banana Frappes are soooooooo good here! They put a whole real banana into them too, not syrup! YUM. I can’t come here without getting one and then wandering, drink in hand, down to Beyond Retro to peruse their vintage clothing and admire all the trendy haircuts, inspiring outfits, and cute boys along the way. Other things I like about this place are: the Michael Jackson and Britney Spears dolls on the counter, the lampshades made out of little paper espresso cups, good music, the sofas and the owner(I think?) who is always walking around, randomly spraying surfaces and wiping them off — all the while being followed around by a dog.

The best coffee in London. The best frappes in London. The best organic panninis/salads/soups in London. Have I made myself clear?

I must admit that my main reason for going into coffee@bricklane is usually in desperate need of a toilet. However, more often that not this is followed by a coffee. As well as being a really nice and cosy little coffee and internet shop, they also have a huge notice board advertising loads of things going on in the local area, things for sale and flats to rent. What more could you need.

This place offers a good cup of coffee if you are around the area, I recently was making the rounds around Bricklane for my Christmas shopping and had a break from the shopping frenzy at this café. It is a nice an comfy setting, and the sandwiches are ok as well. I did go on a weekday so it wasn’t crowded, but I can imagine this place goes banana on the weekends. I will definitely stop there again, the service is amicable and the prices very reasonable .

Something about Coffee@ on Brick Lane doesn’t gone down too well with me. Firstly, although it is not really a reputable coffee joint with people in the know about coffee, you still hear whispers on the street that it does a decent coffee. The truth is it doesn’t, not that the coffee is awful, it is better than some of the other coffee places around, it just doesn’t deserve a reputation for good coffee. It does however deserve a reputation for being a popular haven for the creative types of the area. The vibe is conducive to reading, hanging out with friends, and working on a laptop. The lounges, music and staff give it quite a relaxed kind of bohemian vibe. It is the relaxed kind of ‘loungy’ vibe that I don’t really like. Essentially it is a chain coffee store, and that’s exactly what it feels like.

I am sure you have heard of Spitalfields market, this market is on a Sunday. Bricklane is a couple of blocks away, where you find the proper alternative, East London grove. When working for Diesel, who hold an event at the Truman Brewery, an old beer factory transferred into an event venue, I was appointed to get everyone a coffee. Not far off I found the perfect place, which I knew from other sites of London, the coffee@ chain is a London chain which I personally think is far more better then Starbucks and it even gets a competition with Costa what the coffee concerns! You can choose how many espressos you want in your latte, I usually have 2 and this keeps me going for a long time. Entering the coffee shop it has a lounge feel to it. Newspaper and flyers of events are lied up on the tables. Lots of students are sitting behind their laptops doing more people watching then anything else… Even though I usually study at coffee@ normally, this place is a no-go to get work done. They even have some big good old computer’s available, where you can pay by 30min. The place is quite small and not really tidy, personally it is ideal to get a take-away and get back to work or to wander around, as there are many stalls to explore in this area on a Sunday! There is something cute about the coffee@‘s: Pet friendly Bicycles welcome

After a hard days work(or shopping) coffee @ always tempts me in with the comfy sofas, internet connection and good coffee. They also sell good soup for the colder days and I love the soya chai lattes, much better than buying it from Starbucks. The only problem with it is that I end up forgetting the time, wiling away the hours online or drinking coffee with my book.

Coffee /internet shop on the coner of Quaker and Bricklane — this place is crazy on market day. And if there is any small ray of sunshine the liitle benches lining the outside are being guarded diligently !! This is a great place to go with couches and all the papers available on the weekend to read — lots of people leave their cards around for art shows, exhibitions and clubs — The coffee is good but their banana frappé @ £2.95 and all naturel. is much better . It is £1.00 for ½ hour of internet — and lots are people are with computer.

Situated in the middle of Brick Lane, ‘Coffee @’ is a nice place to stop for a break in the area as the general décor is relaxing and trendy, with large comfy sofas and low tables. It’s pro fair-trade and organic, which offers a refreshing alternative to the ubiquitous coffee shop chains that seem to be taking over the world at the moment. There are a good selection of both coffee and teas. I normally go for one of the green teas and then add honey to taste(mmmm). There are also light snacks on offer such as sandwiches(you can opt to toast), soup, cakes, and flapjacks. They also have a stamp card offer, so after 10 stamps you get a free coffee, not that you need one, its is good incentive to return. There’s also Wi-Fi and access to four computers for those who don’t have laptops at £1 for half an hour, but I’ve often had problems with this and it regularly seems irritatingly slow so it’s not great if you’re thinking of going for this reason. I stick to the great drinks and atmosphere whilst stopping off mid shop. Take a look at the notice board with lots of signs and posters about events/people/requests in the local area such as adverts for a housemate, band member, offers of music lessons and so on. This highlights its support for the local area, and is a nice way for people to search for such info. Coffee @ is an overall cool and chilled out venue to come either alone or with friends. I’ve gone alone several times and found the environment perfect for doing bits of writing work whilst treating your self to a cuppa and an escape from the house.

Coffee @ Brick Lane is a great stop off for all the strenuous shopping in Brick Lane. It is in a great location. I go in for a caffeine shot before I had over to Laden, one of the great boutiques in London. As well as the simple espresso’s and capps, Coffee @ has a full and inventive range of coffee based drinks. Last time I was here, on a slightly chilly afternoon, I had a soya chai tea latte. It was more spiced than your usual high street chai’s. Also in warmer weather, try some of the frappicinos. My favourite is the banana chocolate frapp. This place is also a good place to find out what else is going on and around Shoreditch. The place is stuffed with flyers and info about club nights, so pick up some info with your latte next time you are in.

Coffee @ Brick Lane is another local institution. As the name suggests, Coffee @ has a handful of computers with Internet access which I invariably use should my home connection fail and a comprehensive selection of coffees, teas, juices and light snacks. The décor is quirky and interesting, the staff cool and you can literally while away hour upon hour in the café’s comfy leather sofas with friends drinking cup upon cup of consistently good quality fairtrade coffee.
