This place has simply great couscous. I keep coming back and it never disappoints. My favorite spot in the Bayswater area.

The lamb sausage and Kefte was succulent. Cous cous was well prepared and seasoned with all the usual herbs. Salad condiments standard. Décor is intimate and felt authentically Moroccan. Service good and our food arrived at a good pace. Meal is reasonably priced and the average in the area.

It takes a while for your eyes to take in the décor of this little whole in the wall place. It’s packed with Morocco. Eclectic, crazy and artful all at once. The owner is a nice laid back guy, the menu is extensive. The food is really quite good, wouldn’t say it’s the best I’ve ever had, however combined with the visuality of the restaurant, u won’t be disappointed. I will certainly visit again.

The chicken and apricot tagine was perfect falling off the bone. The couscous light and fluffy. The Moroccan tea with orange blossom delightful. I had been here 9 years ago on a prior trip and it was a highlight. I made sure to try it again this time and my memory was not disappointed
Couscous café is located opposite Whiteleys in Bayswater. As its name suggests, it specialises in north African cuisine, offering tagines, brochettes and unsurprisingly, couscous. It’s a small space inside but well decorated, giving an intimate atmosphere. Sadly, the food is rather bland and missing the punch of all those famous north African herbs and spices. I left a bit disappointed.
