Cozzo is a gem! This place is tucked away on Whitecross Street, and with the market you might not notice it, but it is so worth noticing! The pizzas here are gourmet and delicious, definitely a cut above any regular pizza. They are also really big with a thin crust. I had the primavera and it was really good, the artichoke in particular was yummy, and I added roast mushrooms. I have also tried the pollo crème e funghi(chicken with mushrooms in cream sauce) which comes with salad and french fries and the whole thing was gorgeous and delicious, especially the cream sauce which you keep dipping fries into because its so good. This place also serves a massive calzone which is a score because its not easy to find good calzone. Definitely coming back, this place is a keeper.

I want to give this place a good review for what it is– a friendly neighborhood Italian joint with huge portions and very reasonable prices. If you leave hungry it is your fault. While dishes are not the same as many fancy places in the city, they are all recognizable and hearty. The chicken Milanese with spaghetti(£9) was more than enough to satisfy me after a long pub crawl. The £3 house red wine did the trick. Another time I would try a different pasta dish and consider more salad. The atmosphere is small and you sit close to your neighbors. Service was incredibly friendly. This is a place to bring your parents, especially when you want a place where you can recognize all the ingredients being used.

Delivery order– the first time we ordered pizza it came on time and was warm… Unfortunately, the second time it came after an hour(rather than 30−45min) and the pizza was cold… The actual taste is good but i wasnt happy about having to use my oven to reheat the pizza… Not sure why it says«hot pizza» on the box

Cozzo is a busy, casual neighborhood dinner spot for traditional Italian meals. They have a full selection of pizzas and pastas, as well as risottos and antipasti. The personal-sized pizzas are very thin and the crusts looked amazing. I ordered the melanzane(eggplant) appetizer as well as a green salad, and they were nicely executed. The melanzane was clearly baked to perfection, with lots of melted parmesan flowing everywhere on top of the eggplant /tomato sauce /basil + herbs. It was a croud favorite. The salad was also a nice basic salad. For my main course, I tried the lasagne bolognese, which to be honest was a bit redundant with the melanzane(my fault), but I felt like melty cheese dishes and that’s what I got! The pasta in the bolognese was elegantly thin and there were many, many layers of bolognese and mozzarella, all covered in tomato sauce and melted cheese and finished with parmesan and crushed peppercorns. Service was pretty good… We were able to get our drinks before each course and the evening progressed from one course to the next without frustration.

Okay — it seems as though no one has updated the profile of this hidden gem located near Old Street Roundabout. It once was a little storefront deli — which has been transformed into an Italian joint — connected to The Iskele(right next door). The pizza and pasta are quite nice — and the meats that come from the kitchen are always tasty. I have been nothing but surprised by what they will do — especially when you consider I am an American in London and love my food, my way. If you want to have a bit of fun — ask for«Sanford’s broccoli» which is essentially sauteed broccoli as you would do with pasta. I also heartily recommend the House Special from next door — but remove the bread and have rice instead. You will not go wrong.
