History
Established in 2015.
CREAM was founded in 2015 in collaboration with Protein. The idea is to create a relaxed, interesting space, with great food, juices and coffee, in the middle of Shoreditch. The menu is ingredient-led, so changes daily. But the quality and passion always stay the same.
Meet the Business Owner
Magnus R.
Business Owner
Founded by Magnus Reid, who trained as a tattooist — experimenting on any available flesh — before making his way into the food scene via some of London’s most creditable and experimental bars, pop ups and restaurants.
In just three years since focusing on hospitality Magnus ran the Hackney Pearl, created The Rooftop Café at the Shard (Guardian: «stunning») and The Tuckshop in Shoreditch (Beanhunter: «great coffee and fresh simple food for all»; Timeout: «we spotted a toy dog in a parka jacket on our visit»). Magnus also consults for multiple East London establishments, and is in pre-production for his debut TV show.
Magnus is backed by Andy Kanter, an American by birth but slightly disturbed by temperament. Andy was a founding partner of The Coal Vaults (Evening Standard: 4 stars/“Coal Vaults deserves to succeed”; Barchick: «hottest new kid in town»). Andy previously was a Director of the UK’s biggest software company and advises tech start-ups.
