Crown Moran Hotel

Here is the email sent to all address I got on the crown moran website. Never had a response.
For the record, this hotel is a member of AA
The first room I get on Saturday (12^th July) was the 265
I put my stuff in the closet, I left a card on the wall for power, I turned on the A/​C and I went out to do some shopping.
One hour later, when I came back, the room was still very hot. No cold air despite the heavy noise coming out of the A/​C
I called the front desk to get help. Someone came and has supposedly set the A/​C and told me to wait fifteen minutes to get cold air. So I went to the pool…
On my return in the room, 1 hour after, room was still hot. It was obvious the A/​C did not work at all. I called (again) the lobby and someone came to bring me … a FAN ??? This is how things happen in a 4 stars hotel? Seriously? I had to groan and argue to get another room. The weather outside was so hot, there was no way for me to get air only by a fan while the hotel is supposed to be air-​conditioned !!!
So I get another room, the 360. I did spend the night.
The next morning then, and ready to go, my friend and I put our two ipads, my laptop, our passports, and other stuff like keys in the safe. But it didn’t not work. At the front desk, someone explained to me that there is probably a battery issue and they’re going to fix it the same day. So I had to take all my belongings with me in my backpack all day long, because I already had a bad experience similar to this one in the past I don’t want to happen again, and don’t want to let personal things without protection
(In this room, for the record, the system to block the water in the tub is broken and therefore can’t allow taking a bath, there are holes in the curtains, probably cigarettes, and the dresser drawer on the right is broken.)
Returning late afternoon, the safe still did not work. Someone to the front desk explained they did not know why the safe did not work. I got another room, the 552.
Once installed in the 552, everything seems okay, the A/​C was not amazing but works almost as intended, combined with open windows in the evening, I did succeed getting a cool room. (I will not dwell on the cleanliness a bit hazardous of the bathroom, especially the dried soap from previous occupants (I hope) on the soap dispenser)
On Tuesday (15^th July), my mother, my sister and my 2 nephews, on my advice, come spend the night at the Crown. I made the check-​in for them: my mother (Patricia REMY) got the room 556 (triple room with two beds), my sister (Roxane DORME) got the room 046 (triple room with two beds too).
However, seeing that my sister got a room on the pool (046), I immediately requested another room at the reception, because I know that the rooms over the pool are noisy in the late afternoon — early evening, and especially that there are bad pool smells. The lobby refused my request with a «sorry».
My sister does not like conflict, the she asked me not to insist.
Like the beds in the rooms allowed it, my sister also decided to keep his two son with her, and leave my mother quiet in hers.
And, what had to happen finally happened, around 1:00 am, my sister called and told me that chlorine smells from the pool are too strong, they can’t breathe normally, the kids could not sleep, and they really need to change the room.
I wasn’t at the hotel at that time, I returned quickly, and I went to explain the problem to the front desk where someone very unpleasant has been constantly repeating «I cant do anything, the hotel is full «and did not even bother to say at least a «sorry» when my sister and my two nephews went through the lobby in pajamas to get all 3 of them join my mother in her room. (Btw, I can’t believe the hotel was full in the middle of the week, a Tuesday night. anyway)
Just want to remember, for any purpose, that we were customers, not «guests». We paid for that service, if we can call it that way. Yes, we paid twice the price for one room, because at the end, they all slept in the same one.
This whole story is completely not normal, and this would never have happened. I’ve already been to other 4 star hotels in London and I’ve never had that service. How can you justify all these problems and behavior of your team? It is obvious that your hotel as attractive and modern as it could be 10 years ago now needs maintenance and renovation. I used to be very happy with the Crown before.
Since we have not been able to properly use the 046 room, I expect your refund for at least one night. But I am sure with all the issues we encountered, you will not miss not to add a gesture of goodwill.

On my first ever Euro-​trip last September 2013, my friend and I booked a London and Paris 6-​day vacation through
. In the process we saw that the Crown Moran Hotel had a 4-​star rating and our stay from Sept. 10 – 13 included the daily English breakfast and a double standard room.
From the moment we got off the Tube at the Willesden Green station, we were thinking «What did we get ourselves into?» It was an interesting 15 minute walk along the streets of Cricklewood to the Crown Moran Hotel. We already knew it wasn’t the best neighborhood to be in, but we were all for the experience.
When we arrived at the hotel, we realized it was more suited for the businessman rather than vacationers, but made the most of it anyways. We were able to check-​in a couple hours early without giving advanced notice (always a plus). The room itself was comfy, clean, and well-​appointed. It took us forever to realize that the room key turned the lights on (one of the staff was gracious enough to show us). The bathroom was a decent size and had everything we needed. Our shower head was spraying water in every direction, but the hotel staff worked quickly to fix the problem. The hotel gym was small, but had basic weights, treadmills, and other functional equipment.
The daily breakfast was wonderful. It was located through the pub and upstairs in the adjoining restaurant. Great assortment of breads, fruits, meats, cheeses, and juices – this is in addition to whatever you choose from the menu. As another option, there are many small grocery stores around the area that aren’t pricey at all.
Overall this was a good hotel. Staff are attentive and friendly, the rooms have what you need, there’s a pool and gym, and if your booking includes breakfast – even better! I would stay at this hotel in the future.

Booked through a travel deal and I find it to be a very nice hotel with updated rooms. The hot water was hot and the bed was nice and comfy. The bakery across the street was tasty with friendly people. The neighborhood is nothing to write home about, but I felt safe the whole time even after dark taking the bus. The bus stops right in front of the hotel as well.

I ordered Wandle but they messed up and gave me London Pride instead. Fortunately it was a lovely top frothy pint of the stuff in superb condition. I originally wanted Sierra Nevada Pale Ale but it turns out that while they have the tap they haven’t actually served it for a while!
The back room is seriously attractive!

I agree with other reviewers about this being a gem of a hotel in a crappy neighborhood. Actually our cabbie as he was driving us to the hotel said «yeah this used to be a pretty rough neighborhood, it’s a little better now though.» Oh, great!
The room and the hotel itself is clean and well-​kept. Bathroom was modern and had a nice tub. Comfy bed with fresh linens. Pool and gym looked nice but I didn’t use either. I really loved the breakfasts every morning too, I looked forward to it! The waitresses were very helpful and friendly. The dining space is very cute, too. I loved the thick old fashioned yogurt with muesli, fruit, and the different yummy breads, meats, and cheeses. We didn’t visit the pub for dinner or drinks.
There are dining options nearby, but they seemed hit or miss, like you had to know which ones were worth going to and which were not. Bus stop right outside the hotel was nice.
I would definitely come back to stay at this hotel, but like I said I might pass it up for a nicer location and neighborhood.

Rooms are small and clean! Nice bathroom and large tub. Was not asked for ID upon check in, kinda weird. Pub is adorable and attached to the hotel. We booked through a package deal. Surrounding neighborhood is not the greatest but in comparison to parts of Oakland I’d walk around waiving my money in the air. 15 min walk to the tube.

Loved the fusion of old with new. Clean, updated rooms. Enjoyed the cozy bar area.

A random huge monument in the wastelands of Cricklewood. Ok its not that bad here but it is a fancy hotel that’s connected to a giant pub in a comparatively crappy neighborhood. Why would you want/​need to stay in this area?

This is more a review of the spaces within the hotel but not the rooms themselves. I’ve never stayed here before but I have attended events here that had rented out their upstairs ball room space. I have a feeling that this hotel makes more money renting out their various spaces within the lobby/​bar/​pub areas rather than filling rooms. So many places to run and hide and relax.
So the hotels private party space is really nice and the architecture décor is old school and pretty. I would recommend renting it out for a big charity event or something. And there’s a cute piano chill lounge area in between the private room upstairs and the lobby.
The bartender that was at the little bar in the corner was completely disinterested in her job, let alone life I think. So maybe hire your own catering/​tending if you use this place.
Im not sure who owns what but I think the bar and the hotel are all the same owners. And there is a little in between old fashioned looking pub that I think you can reserve as a private room as well. Lovely décor and coal fires instead of teles.

the crown pub is very old and it has a good food place. but food is irish like heavy soup bacon and cabbage.
the hotel itself has alacarte dining but very expensive for such a poverty area. also nasty atomposhere staff think there in the savoy king citric should be called king hostile!

I lived just next door to this pub for a while and during the week it can get pretty empty but on a friday and saturday it is totally crowded. The have a dj playing and sometimes a live band. The music is pretty good but the dancefloor is tiny. If you want to talk to people its better to head upstairs. If you are a girl; bring some male friends since the men in there can be a bit too much. Not a very trendy place.

I went here, to the pub area of the hotel, once for a Sunday Roast.
For £10.95, you get to pile your plate as high as you can (but once only!), with an included soup or salad. Good choice of meats and vegetables — the roast potatoes were quite good. Nice big comfy leather lounges to recline on and potentially fall asleep in, and it’s fairly quiet up top where the servery is. One could easily lose their afternoon here with cold beers and good company.
A nice big old pub that has had a big renovation and done quite well. The day I went, there were quite a few seniors out for lunch and a few families. Not really many young people, but hey, it was perfect for a hungover, sleepy Sunday meal. Relaxing. Cosy. Satisfying. Local.
