Really enjoyed the dumplings, lamb, fish & vegetables — all very fresh. This restaurant’s food is much better than most Chinese. We ordered one item we did not like and the staff took it back without any hassle. Good service! NOT expensive. Hope you enjoy this neighborhood restaurant as Yan & I did. Tsai Chien

I highly recommend the spicy pot of this restaurant. It is particularly great for a group of people, so everyone can try different meat and vegetables. I went with my husband and a number of his MBA friends. We ordered two spicy pots. There are different grades of spicy, and we got one that is least spicy and one that is the next grade. I would recommend the least spicy option because it is REALLY spicy! We got one portion of all vegetables and a couple of meat, including chicken, fish, canned meat etc, and everything tastes good with all the spice. The service is so so. Food is served pretty quickly, but if you want other things the waiter can be not very responsive. The restaurant has a back room with a karaōke. Might be a good option for a karaōke party

The food there is pretty authentic, but the service was really ‘impressive’, not in a really good way though. Went there with 3 friends. We generally liked the food. Very impressed by their sweet pork(Guo Bao Rou, somewhat similar to sweet & sour pork, but less greasy), steamed sea bass, and the green beans with minced pork. The portion wasn’t so big compared with that at other Chinese restaurants, but still reasonable. Interestingly, we ordered four rices, but in the end the waitress brought us one big bowl of rice and ask us to take our own from it. We didn’t order drinks and asked for four tap waters, and the waitress looked at us as if we burned the restaurant down. Probably will go there again, but just for the food. The service definitely brings my impression of the place down.

Sorry Wayne, I have to completely disagree with you. Lets start with how the night started. We step into the restaurant, really hoping to JUST find good Chinese food and low expectations of service, and at first, we got really odd stares and then a nod to a table to order. We keep waiting to have someone come to us, and we order a beer and some house wine. Doesnt come for 10 mins. So we ask for it and ask to order. Someone comes over and when we ask for chicken dumplings that are on the menu, she says NO chicken dumplings. Then we ask for veggie dumplings, and she says sure but they have pork in them… UM… is a pig suddenly a vegetable? We settle on a chicken appetizer and order the steamed sea bass and chicken with egg fried rice and steamed rice. Steamed sea bass was the only thing that brought my star rating up. Chicken was boring and bland and the egg fried rice tasted old. Oh and they NEVER brought our appetizers! Honestly, Im not planning to come back. bad service + bad food.

Possibly having spent nearly a thousand quids here, Crystal China is my go-to place for proper Chinese food after a long, hard day’s work. My only experience with the establishment is through deliveries, and each time orders have arrived on time and accurate. Safe to say that they’re great with the more gutsy, honest, and spicy Chinese dishes, though I’ve largely steered clear of the mainstream stuff that most Chinese would order. Always a pleasure to be greeted by someone who can speak both proper English and Mandarin on the line.
