Fantastic selection of all possible and impossible Italian deliciousness! Endless selection of different types of ham, salami, dips and other antipasti. Fresh pasta, fresh awesomeness of all kind. Wide range of biscuits and chocolates. Perky service — LOVE IT!

What a gem! This place has it all: fresh pastas and sauces, fresh baked breads, nice pastries, and a fairly decent array of Italian delicacies and the like.
My only gripe is the miserable little bald man whom I presume is the owner. I avoid going in when I see him milling about. His only redeeming quality is he hires outstanding a friendly staff, so I’ll give it a pass.

Da Mario is the first shop I starting shopping in when I moved to Islington and discovered Highbury Park. The shop is an Italian delicatessen and has everything you can possible imagine. If you want to make pasta there is a wide variety of fresh and frozen. If you need olives, they’ve got you covered. The shop even sells ice cream, coffee, wine and other canned goods. Of course no Italian delicatessen is complete without a selection of breads and Da Mario will not disappoint. What I like about this shop is that the staff is warm and knows a thing or two on Italian cuisine. If you purchase fresh pasta they will tell you how to cook it to perfection and will even suggest a number of sauces or meats to go with it.
Da Mario offers all the fixins for a proper Italian meal, from the starters to the main course to the dessert, I like one stop shopping, especially when it’s done with a smile!
