Demarquette Fine Chocolates

My first review for my favourite sweet top-​shop! I love the chocolates here, they are so fine! A little pricey but totally worth it, there are many flavours to choose from. Make your day sweet and visit Demarquette!

Sweet dreamFreshly hand-​made fine chocolate gifts and treats, I can’t decide if they look better or taste better. Melt in your mouth, wonderful flavours, so soft and delicate, a great treat or an idea for a gift. The designs are very impressive and beautiful. A must!

I went along to the Qype event here too. Really good chocs, with style. Mark and his team care a lot about their products.

Great chocolates by business partners Mark and Kim. Particularly loved the Oriental Collection with the Ben Tre Vietnamese chocolate, used as a base chocolate for this range, which had a silky smooth texture and exotic floral, raisin and hazelnut flavours. My favourites in this range were the Szechuan Pepper and the Lemongrass & Kaffir Lime. Particularly if you are in the Chelsea area, I would definitely drop by to pick up some amazing chocolates from a friendly team who have good ethoses (particularly charitable and environmental) at their core also. Will definitely be going back!!!

I have a real passion for chocolate and I was really lucky to have a place on the tasting session that Qype organised last week. I thought it was going to be good but it turned out to be great and it exceeded my expectations by far.
The presentation of the chocolates and the decoration of the shop (all made out of chocolate) is superb and it is definitely worth a look too.
Marc Demarquette himself was the one that managed the tasting and gave us the story behind every single chocolate that we tasted (too many, I couldn’t have dinner that day, not that I am complaining :), as well as the explanation as to where he sources the ingredients from, something that he is almost as passionate as chocolate itself.
The chocolatier was delightful, no less than his chocolates. He exudes enthusiasm and passion to create unique art creations in the form of chocolate. He is also backed by the highest accolades in the industry.
We tasted a wide variety of chocolates, from Moroccan mint tea to Earl Grey, strawberry caramel, etc. They really were all incredible, and I couldn’t choose a favourite one.
They are more expensive than your usual day-​to-​day chocolate, but it is to be expected. These are handmade chocolates, with the best ingredients sourced from all over the world.
They are the perfect treat and a great present for chocolate lovers, especially now that Christmas is approaching. And you are free to try the chocolates before your purchase so you can be sure that you will be buying those that you like the most.
There are no words to describe this supreme chocolate, the only option is for you to taste it yourself :) Head to the shop when you have a chance. I have been back since the event to buy a few treats for myself already!

Every so often, you get lucky enough to meet someone who is not only passionate about what they do, but also happy to share this passion with you in an unselfish and unpatronising way. Marc Demarquette is just such a person.
I was lucky enough to attend a qype event at this chocolate wonderland in Chealsea. As well as being allowed to sample some of the innovative (and incredibly delicious) flavours, we were also given an insight into the sourcing and development behind them, and even given some tips on making our own chocolate ganache — something I plan to impress my next dinner party guests with. Even without the background knowledge, Marc’s passion shines out through his chocolates. From the jammy, fruity caramels of the british orchard collection to the inspired and unique fresh flavours in the orient collection, there really is something here for all tastes. Everyone I asked was hard-​pressed to pick a favourite — I myself was torn between a highland malt infused creation and the extra-​dark orange chocolate.
The store is clean but inviting, and I hear rumours of marvellous displays in the lead up to Christmas. The staff are willing to explain what goes into the chocolates, and will even let you have a little sample too. Whether you’re the type to savour the chocolates by having one a day, or someone who would lock themselves in and scoff the lot at once, get yourself down to this shop and enjoy!

Loved, loved, loved demarquette. You know when you can just tell when someone’s passion and knowledge shines through in everything they do. Well Demarquette is like that. Marc Demarquette is the creative force behind all the receipes and when he talks about the way he sources his ingredients his enthusiam is unmistakable. He also cares about his suppliers, and discussed the effort he makes to link in with ethicallly run small producers for everything he uses in his chocolates from the cream to the natural flavourings to the chocolate itself, such as the Ben Tre chocolate grown in Vietnam where the plantation helps to support children who were born with deformities as a result of chemical warfare. As the cherry on the cake the chocolates also taste amazing and each one looks like a tiny work of art. If you want to give someone a present that will make them love you forever or even just treat yourself after a tough week (go on you’ve earned it!) I would head straight for Demarquette.

The tasting event was a tour de force. Marc shared so much about his journey and the wonderful finely sourced ingredients that make Demarquette a top award winning emporium of delight.
We tried so many fine delectable chocolates i particularly enjoyed the morroccon mint and earl grey.
Marc and his team is working alongside Action Against Hunger a charity that works to promote the award winning cocoa from the BenTre district in South Vietnam providing support to children born with disabilities in that area.
It was wonderful to be part of this tasting experience and I have informed many firends and family that Demarquette istheplace for real chocolate.

I had the pleasure of hosting an event here on Tuesday with the talented Marc Demarquette. A group of Qypers were treated to a lovely talk in the shop of the history of chocolate, yummy facts, and the chance to taste and learn about at least 10 varieties of Demarquette’s own creations.
I already knew a little bit about their origins (4 years old in Sep) and their approach to chocolate (supporting smaller ethical growers and suppliers) but it was great to see the extend of the creative work that goes into each handmade piece.
We tasted Moroccan Mint, Scottish Whiskey, Earl Grey tea, Sezchuan pepper, and Devon strawberry caramels amongst others before learning how to make a superb ganache infused with Sicilian lemon.
(I swear, I only had one cupful)
Marc is not only super knowledgeable for someone who has only been a chocolatier for the past 4 years, but is ultimately really enthusiastic and passionate about bringing quality, beautiful chocolates to the market.
His demonstrations were great and we all enjoyed getting a feel for the unusual ranges.
After seeing some of the mad hatter and mushroom displays from the Alice in Wonderland Easter goodies in the shop, I can’t wait for the Christmas displays when the shop will be lit with candles and funky Festive tastes.
Definitely get down to the shop as the team are happy to let you browse and try some of the best chocolates you will ever have!

The chocolate is a work of art the taste out of this world I had a wonderful evening at the qype tasting event. It was wonderful to meet Marc Demarquette. I would recommend it to my family and friends as xmas will be coming soon.

I was fortunate to be make the Qype tasting event there and i was in a chocolate heaven.
Mark Demarquette talked us through the event and the enthusiasm and pride in his chocolate made it very enjoyable.
I tried the lemongrass from his oriental selection made with an award winning vietnamese chocolate. — The others i tried were the earl grey, ugandan chocolate orange, morrocan mint leaf tea. In all we sampled over 10 different chocolates and each one was tasty and satisfying. If you have are looking for chocolate presents then this is the place to visit
They really do want you to sample the chocolates so dont be shy.
The owner is in the shop in the afternoons and is willing to give you advice but his staff are fully trained in the art of chocolate knowledge so will be able to assist you aswell

I visited Demarquette for the Qype chocolate tasting event, and quite frankly I didn’t want to believe. Walking into the Chelsea store you are hit with an amazing aroma and little chocolate sculptures all over the place from previous themes, such as carousels and mushrooms and little chocolate houses adorn the shop.
Marc Demarquette sure knows his chocolate, and the passion he has for the product is obvious. He is quite determined to only use top quality ethical ingredients, with chocolate from all over the world, infused with teas from England, strawberries from Devon, cream from Cornwall and mint from his own back garden.
I don’t quite know how to describe the chocolates as words really won’t do justice. I love chocolate, but can be quite fussy, every one of these chocolates were amazing. We tried many chocolates, it is so hard to try and pick a favourite, the Moroccan mint tea was completely just like picking a mint leaf from the garden, and Strawberry caramel was like chocolate with a strawberry jam. The new oriental collection also has some great combinations, like Szechuan pepper, with all the taste and less fieriness and lemongrass with the gorgeous fresh citrus flavour.
The chocolates aren’t cheap, but for a special occasion they are definitely worth it. If you visit the shop you can be sure that you will receive the best advice, as these guys are so passionate about their product and new ideas. I’m just saving for my next fix, my mars pails in significance.

The chocolate shop is fabulous if far from the tube. Right on several bus routes, in a very upmarket shopping area, Demarquette chocolates is an oasis of calm on a busy street. Within the shop you are met with a stylish interior where delicious chocolates are kept behind glass. There are more caramel flavours here than I have seen anywhere else. A heaven for the caramel lover, the shapes are both semi-​round and floral. The flower shapes reflect the scent and flavour of the caramel inside.
The chocolate used is a favourite of chocolate makers in London Valrhona. The choices of caramel and ganache flavouring were not typical and with a dizzying array of both caramel and ganache chocolates everyone is sure to find something they would enjoy. I suspect everyone will find something they will enjoy. Just the shopping experience was pleasurable, looking over the variety of lovely red boxes of chocolate bars and the colours of the various chocolates.
I would never turn down a box of truffles or ganache chocolates from this shop and expect to visit again :-)

Just got back from a wonderful Qype evening and I can say it was even more fantastic. I got to meet the chocolatier, sample tons of chocolates and bought some for my work mates as well as grabbing a chuao bar for myself and to review on

One of London’s finest artisan chocolatiers: Marc Demarquette creates fine artisan chocolates at his shop in Chelsea. The chocolates are expensive but worth treating yourself to pure luxury Valrhona chocolate. There are plenty of chocolate flavours to choose from, which should suit most taste palettes. A small box of 6 chocolates costs about £7, more for a treat than every day chocolate eating. Although, this does depend on your budget.

Award-​winning, hand-​crafted chocolates entice the visitor here; created by the eponymous owner, at his ‘lab’ in Notting Hill Gate. The speciality ganache selection is wide and tantalising; many of the (unusual) flavours have gained industry recognition and commendation, amongst them: Sicilian Lemon, Fleur de Sel (caramel with a savoury edge), Honey and Arabian Café.
The staff here are very welcoming and informative and will offer a tempting taste to entice and educate novices. I was intrigued by some of the more curious options including exotic Ylang Ylang and Blanc Manger. The presentation is elegant, in smart red square boxes, and the price — £14.50 for 16 ganache squares — reflects the attention to detail and quality. Worth it for a special occasion treat or gift!
