I once inherited some Diptyque candles from a friend who inherited them from a fashion show and have been addicted to this cult French perfumery’s scents ever since. Although I balk at actually spending £30 on a candle — maybe later in life when I live alone with twenty cats — I am willing to splash out on their gorgeous perfumes, my favourite, fig, a moreish, cerebral scent that is purely addictive. The packaging, like this shop’s décor, is simple and uncluttered. Heavy glass bottles with black and white labels containing some of the finest perfumes around.

I find Diptyque very stylish, elegant and visiting their stores are like a aesthetic adventures. Selling scented candles, body lotions and fragrances it is all about the sensation of smelling, touching and trying these beautifully packed luxury products. Indeed these products are on the pricey side and this far £30 from a candle has been for me just too much to ask no matter how precious the ingredients ever are. The decoration of this particular shop is very dark, with the contrast of black and white with harsh spot lights. Even though I have visited their shops before, I was a bit reserved by its cold looks. Luckily the products will captivate your attention.
