The Edara method is a specific way of teaching anyone (young or old) the skills they need to be a great musician! Everything is taught through activities and band practice. Our students can work through each level either on their first instrument (all instruments welcome) or they can learn a new instrument choosing from the options available (Drums, Piano, Guitar and Bass Guitar).

History

Established in 2011.

Joe Perry, Francesc Marco and Tom Kay, met as professional musicians in their twenties in the workshops led by the innovative music teacher Barak Schmool (RAM, GSDM, Trinity Laban), in a setting where professional musicians gathered to acquire musical skills uncovered in the conventional musical curriculum. Exposed to novel teaching techniques imported from other musical traditions, they were asked to perform seemingly simple tasks and were surprised to see how quick and profound the results were.

After years of learning, practicing, rehearsing and performing together, Francesc, Tom and Joe created a new music course, with a novel approach to learning. This course

incorporates their performing experience, their formal musical training and their combined experience as classroom, university, and peripatetic teachers.
