We headed to La Perla as I had been there before and we were happily accepted and escorted upstairs to El Nivel, even though it was coming close to midnight and everywhere else was closing. Upstairs is completely different to downstairs. It is a more relaxed low light, spacious room, with a nice bar in the centre. We ordered a selection of tapas dishes which seemed to be more refined to what you would normally expect. Every dish was incredible, the Pork Belly was outstanding and so was the Gambas. We also had a creamy potato dish which reminded me of Dauphinoise which was unusual to see on a Mexican menu but worked. They also do an amazing set of cocktails and pride themselves on the spirts they use. We ordered a cocktail, I can’t remember the name, which had a surprisingly pleasant smokey taste to it. Very strong but still enjoyable. I would definitely recommend and would go back again. Maybe a more of an intimate/​romantic venue compared to the loud/​party like vibe that is downstairs. Let me start by saying I’m very cautious of highly rated establishments with a low number of ratings… That said, we were in London from New Mexico, Boston and England and took a chance and wow, are we glad we did! We had a great meal!!! Chicken Tacos, Chicken Mole, Guacamole Tuna Dish, etc… Were all fantastic! Salsa and chips were great!
Food was outstanding and the margaritas were great. Come and eat here! You will not be disappointed!
