Got the beef pie since they were out of chicken. Came with mash potatoes, chips and small salad. They forgot the gravy so it was a bit dry. It was all right because I was hungry but pie was really dry. Staff is friendly, order at the bar. Friendly place. Restroom is clean.

They literally wouldn’t serve me and my friends. If you are a decent white human living in England boycott this place. For all of you non-whites, avoid this racist joint.

The Elephant Head pub looked very beautiful and inviting from the outside. As we stepped in it appeared to be a traditional, classic looking, British pub. It had Wimbledon on tv so that made this kid happy. We had to order or food at the bar. It did the job but expectations were low. Beer was cold on a warmer day. Overall, it did the trick but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

Quirky little pub! And I do mean little! The bar runs most of the length of one of the walls leaving a narrow space for customers. It’s not a problem during the day and week nights but it gets very busy and crowded on Friday and Saturday nights! BUT that’s just the sign of a good pub! It’s got a very high energy vibe about it and I think the small space gives it a good sense of community. I was served by a really friendly and fun barmaid and despite the business, it didn’t take long at all to get my drink!

Went in because the hotel desk staff said it was a great place. I agree! Open mike night was fun, and they get a mix of talent, some good, others(like me) not so good. Still it is a friendly place, the beer selection is good and even though crowded, still found a good place to sit and watch the show. Also noted is that there were several groups of young ladies sitting there having a nice time as well. Went back a second time tonight.

Good pint of guinness. Horrible music. A U2 Best Of CD playing for almost the entire time I spent there. Sucked big time. First and last time. Cheers.

Nice Camden place, somewhat indie and alternative. All-day breakfast, which gets you going after a night of party. Prices are alright(Breakfast about 8 Pounds), average food, probably mostly convenience stuff(Harsh-browns, mushrooms, quite good baked beans but supposedly out of the can). Drinks for fair prices, tasty Bloody Mary. There seems to be a lot going on at night, which unfortunatelly leaves marks in the bathrooms. I liked the Woodstock-style Music a lot.

If you like pubs that have an eclectic mix of characters who like to get boozed up whilst the DJ spins awesome classic punk/ska/rock tunes on vinyl. Then this is the bar for you! Friendly drunken crowd ranging in ages from 18 to 80 years including old rockers who’ve never lost their love for the music and can still rock it like back in the day! You can have such random nights here, where the whole crowd get talking, dancing and singing together as if it’s a school reunion! They have a late license too! Great Camden pub! Defo recommend!

An old teddy boy hang out from back in the day. Good local boozer. Lots of people who look like they need to be scraped from their seat as they’ve probably been there the past 20 years. I thought it was an interesting cast of characters. I had no issues with the costs, quality or cleanliness. It serves it’s purpose as a pub.

Gemütliches Pub im Herzen von Camden Town. Hier trinken wir bei jedem London Besuch ein paar Pints. Gemischtes Publikum von Punk bis Bankangestellter und die Preise sind auch okay!

I normally go there for the ska and rudeboys. haha. I love the proper skinhead dj and the music they play. Its always packed and fun but last time I got a bit pissed off because this drunk guy with a handicap keep bugging me. Like at one point my bf(who doest get involved until I ask for his help) had to tell him to jog off. After 5 mins he was back so I told his friends and the bouncer to keep an eye on him cuz I want to enjoy my night as well. I don’t need a raging drunkart spit on me when he slurs his words and tries to grab my butt. Yes, by now you prolly realised I’m incredibly beautiful and a magnificent weirdo magnet! Ahahahaha. Anyways! Yes, go Elephant’s Head. Dance to some awesome ska songs with some awesome skinheads and drink and be merry!

This place was cool. I came here with my friend and we came to get some cod and chips with mushy peas. Everything was sooo delicious. I usually dont like peas but damn, I put a little bit of Tabasco sauce and pepper and they were the perfect compliment to my meal. The fish was fresh and crispy and delicious the chips were hot and perfectly cooked. I had it with some Strongbow Cider… MMMM I want to be back in Camden Town! Honestly had a great time here the whole atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The only thing that was annoying is they charge you a fee for not paying with cash. Otherwise this place is awesome!

Aside from being small, as many previous reviews have mentioned, Elephant’s Head was a standard pub in the Camden area that just didn’t happen to charge cover and just did happen to not be so full that they wouldn’t let us in. Not exactly the set up for a mind-blowing experience. It was super crowded though, and we basically spent our time sliding this way and that to stay out of others ways. The bar was full, but my friend was able to get drinks easily for all of us after just a few minutes. It’s a nice long bar, which would make it a pretty cool place when it’s not packed. I imagine it’s a neat local, when it’s not filled with the night life of the weekends. No idea about the food, sorry I can’t add more in that respect. The servers/security we came into contact with were quite friendly though. So, the foundation is all there, it would just probably be a better place when it’s not so crowded(read: enjoy on a night other than Friday or Saturday!).

Much like! We stopped in for a refreshing adult bevvie after wearing ourselves out at the Stables Market, and did not regret the decision. They serve a proper pint of Guinness, nice and fresh and poured correctly. And they have John Smith’s Extra Smooth! Whoever lines up the tunes has my vote — we walked into the middle of a set of early R.E.M., which totally floated my boat. Will be back!

Quite simply, a good night out in Camden especially if you want a late night. Good beer and a buzzing atmosphere gets very crowded but I keep going back! Well done P White

Wandered here after the World’s End and started to get the picture that maybe it’s just Camden town that’s weird, not the last bar I was in, or maybe I’d just had a bit to drink tonight. This bar was blaring a n eclectic mix of 50’s and 60’s pop and was packed to the gills with a random smattering of people enjoying their Saturday Night out. the bar didn’t have much special about it to draw people in(besides a hot bar tender or two) so I guess it’s the location on the main drag that makes this place so popular. What a lucky owner eh? I’d check it out if I was on a pub crawl through town, maybe it could even function as a meat market bar. I don’t know, we only stuck around for one drink and moved on.

We stumbled into this place accidentally whilst trying to recharge during a weekend trip to Camden Market. We didn’t have a bad experience, but there also didn’t seem to be much to distinguish this pub from any other we visited during our trip. If anything this pub seemed a little out of place compared to the swirling mess of Goth surrounding it, but that actually might work in it’s favor as it provided a respite from both the rain and the throngs of pouty kids with funny haircuts outside. The food was decent. The wife ordered a BLT which was delicious(to me — she has a weird issue about English bacon). I ordered the Fish and Chips. It was good, but the fish was breaded, not battered– weird… In all fairness this was a Sunday afternoon, so maybe if we had gone in the evening we would have caught some of what sets the Elephant Head apart from the rest. Maybe next time we’ll give that a shot.

This pub looks nice from the outside. It has one of those old fashioned exteriors. I didn’t really like the interior much though. And someone with a dog was going around begging for cider money(not really the pubs fault). Seemed to lack any kind of atmosphere. They do real ale here, but they seem to hide the pumps behind the menus on the bar for some reason. The ale they serve is a well enough kept pint of Courage Best, unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of this particular beer, especially not at the price they sell it for here.

Mein absolutes Lieblingspub in London, in unmittelbarer Nähe des Camden Markets gelegen. Das Publikum ist sehr relaxed, die Preise absolut im Rahmen(Pint 3 Pfund, Essen unter 10 Pfund).

We spent the majority of our evening here one night, and even though it was crowded and a place to sit was hard to come by, we kept going back. Drinks here are cheap and the crowd is interesting. The DJ this particular night was playing an interesting assortment of tunes. And by interesting I mean it was like he was hitting shuffle on about 5 very different people’s iPods. The folks there were friendly and there was lots of laughing and dancing going on.

It was a freezing decembers evening, and starting snow so my boyfriend and I were searching on the hunt for a cosy place to rest are weary bones… We trecked high and Low through Camden Town, literally walking into about 5 other places until I found the perfect spot so grab a beer and have a cuddle. Walking into this cute little warm pub, I instantly felt at home, and knew this was the place for us. There was a really nice bunch of people, chatting about films, music, and christmas… they two of what I call ’ snug pits’ where you can relax and lye out on one of their leather sofas, and catch abit of snuggle time. Its a small pub, with a massive long bar, but it’s really chilled out, and homely. A nice retreat from the manic tourists outside barging their way forward on the hunt for a festive bargain. A three star retreat, for a moderate snuggle.
