Yup… just what you’ve always wanted… fantastic extra virgin olive oil and spare 13amp fuses right in the one store… how convenient is that?
The owner and his son are super friendly and always happy to chat. They own turkish and cypriot olive farms and are obviously very proud of their produce.
As previous posts have mentioned, they’ve picked up a fair bit of press and rightly so.

I went to shop the shop for some electrical components, unlike your average corporate electrical merchant this was more like an Aladdins cave of electrical bits and bobs.
I was a little apprehensive beforehand as his website didn’t indicate whether he’d have the bits I was after.
When I got there The owner was friendly, understood what I was asking for, found the bits and I went away not feeling overcharged.

I don’t think I will ever buy my olive oil anywhere else. Sublime quality and the prices are rather cheap given such quality — I bought a litre of their very tasty, lovely and mild 2006 olive oil for £6. Their 2009 olive oil was £9 per litre, a real bargin considering what you pay elsewhere for a good cold pressed single estate extra virgin olive oil.

I look forward to going back soon and hope that Mr Murat will be there; the person who served me on my first visit — while reluctantly offering advice on the different oils — was not very forthcoming and did not offer an olive oil tasting!

Well aren’t I lucky I can pick up olive oil and plugs at the same time from my local electrical supply shop.
This has become «famous» due to being picked up by NYmag for having the best olive oil in the world or something. The Observer also got all excited about it.
Well, it’s good but its Greek. It is a bit like having Chinese truffles or Sicilian Parmesan. It doesn’t have the pepper bite that I like from a truly exceptional Tuscan/​Umbrian olive oil (aren’t I precious).
Still at £8 for a litre of very good (but not Tuscan) olive oil you are pretty happy and you get a nice middle class «discovery» back story to entrance your friends with.

Today, whilst wandering around the neighbourhood during a break from a temp posting, I stumbled upon this electrician-​cum-​boutique olive oil producer. Smoking a cigarette and reading the card posted to the door an old man exited and insisted quite quietly that I pop inside for a sample. I smiled politely and thanked him for his endorsement. I was already intrigued. Electrician? Boutique olive oil? Surely this is the stuff of good London city stories!
Made short, the experience was wholly gratifying. The proprietor — inheritor and rejevenator of family plots in Cypress and in Turkey — enthusiastically took me through his history, his growing region, his products, and at my urging his distribution model (I’m something of a nerd), all in under ten minutes. I tasted oil from his Cypriot groves and from his Turkish groves (Cypriot — astonishingly light; Turkish — spicy aftertaste), as well as some of his olives.
Though my pockets were empty at the time I will be returning as soon as possible to stock up on his goods and share them with my family and friends. This is exactly what local businesses are brilliant for.
