I think there just never can be enough shoe boutiques in this town and as a shoe maniac I usually pop in every one I see. The last time I headed for to Emma Hope Shoes when I was looking for a perfect pair of boots. That is exactly what defines their style. Perfect classic well made designs. I would not go if I were looking for a killer pair of party high heels. You get my picture. Even for me the boots selection wasn’t cool enough. No edge. Bur beautiful store.

A step-up from Russell & Bromley… this shop reflects traditional English values as far as British footwear goes. The shoes are well-made; undeniably good quality. This shop is the middle ground for mature and younger trendy shoppers — you probably would enter this shop looking for something for your mom(classic loafers, boots, pumps) and just might leave with something for yourself(loafers that are bit granny/eco a la the Gucci catwalk a few seasons ago). You could also view Emma Hope as a cheaper alternative to Tod’s — come here in search of your standard professional office shoe, and you won’t come away disappointed. The atmosphere inside is a little too-cluttered feeling for me… it really is all about the shoes and the shoes only — pretty much every surface is crowded with displays of their merchandise. But the staff is nice and won’t blink if you ask for multiple sizes in multiple styles.

Part of me is fascinated by Emma Hope Shoes, the other part finds the shop too conservative and dated. Maybe part of that is due to a similar divide in the collections. You firstly have the Emma Hope take on Converse. Immensely comfortable, available in velvet, crocodile, low, medium or high top. Then you have the bridal slippers: pastel, beaded, pointed toes and kitten heels. Glance the other way and yet again another sight of heavy, leather men’s shoes, robust and well made. Emma Hope knows how to do quality which is probably what makes the footwear so signature. The price is not cheap, but the shoes will last. All in all I like Emma Hopes philosophy, I just feel that here in her own shop, the mass of stock is rather incoherent and takes away from the individual pieces.

Hi, You are looking for gorgeous shoes? Forget Manolo or Jimmy. That’s the place! They have everyday court shoes, but also to die for evening numbers. It’s not cheap £200ish but it will last. Make sure your boyfriend knows this place. Sales are great to add to your collection(I already have 12 pairs) Great wedding shoes as well. Staff are great and approachable! ENJOY! PS: men’s collection too
