History
Established in 1938.
Friedrich Pollak opened his picture framing workshop in the West End in 1938 after leaving Berlin. The firm moved to St. James’s where it remained until 1990, when it moved to Farringdon and then in 1996 to it’s current location. In his will Mr. Pollak left ½ of the business to his foreman Johann Roeder, who had been with him since 1955. He still works for the firm, which is now own by his son Alexander Roeder. Over it’s history the firm has framed pictures for private galleries, national galleries, institutions and private individuals from all over the world. Artists ranging from Botticelli to Banksy. Also client’s photos, letters and posters.
