music is not that loud which makes the place a nice place to read. coffee was good. leather couches are comfortable.

I live locally in the area, and this is my go-​to coffee shop. The service is quick and friendly. The space is large enough to lounge around with friends during the day. Try the Fat Wife (flat white) and make sure to get a loyalty card on your way out!

Fuckoffee can’t fuck off at all because I need it to satisfy my everyday caffeine and pastry requirements.
The coffee here is spot on and you get a loyalty card as extra inspiration. Their almond croissants are worth every last calorie and there are other pastries here too that look pretty good (but I’m boring when it comes to this stuff).
For non breakfast needs, they have all sorts of soups, salads and sandwiches and things to keep vegans happy. Highly recommended is the Thai chicken soup. And all of the salads, although they are small. So basically you can get a pastry and a soup and they cancel each other out. Right?
All of the items that you get here come in take away form. There is hour long wifi and lots of seats. Be prepared to share your couch/​table. If you can, grab a window seat or a spot outside: people watching bonanza.

Cute spot. Was my neighborhood bar when visiting. They did coffee right. From my vacation I realized that London did espresso right and Paris did tea right. Oh the irony.

Great coffee; a neighbourhood favourite both for working and chilling on their comfy sofas. I haven’t tried the food but the lunch menu does look really good.

I always try to get a space here as it’s close to uni and a great place to work. The coffee is really tasty if you’re a beginner to the whole coffee thing (like me) but it is a little expensive and the place is mostly packed. However, on the plus side, I love the music they play there and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. Definitely my go to place for a lounge about in some comfy chairs. Oh and the multitudes of dogs are just adorable!

It can be terrifying to explore big cities alone sometimes. Especially when you go to places with only big groups of people who seem to stare at you because you’re alone (that’s probably just you being paranoid, but still). It’s in those moments that you need a place like this one, where it doesn’t matter if you’re alone or with friends, where people are just sitting back in comfy chairs reading the newspaper or typing on their computer and groups of friends are calmly enjoying their coffee (which doesn’t mean the atmosphere is boring, it’s quite the opposite!). I bumped into this place after a long and tiring walk so it was the perfect spot to take a break and read a book. I’d say this is a good place to study or write a paper but the music is loud so unless loud music is your key to concentration, it’s not ideal for that. The banana smoothy is delicious and the decoration is messy in a cozy way.
Place to be for all you lonely Londoners (or for people with loads of friends too of course)!

Always busy and you don’t feel welcoming, service and drinks isn’t that good. I had latte and I did not quite liked it for the price I paid. To log in to Internet they give u 60monutes password. Is 21^th century just open a free wi-​fi. It needs more changes

Nice place. Comfy seats and sofas. Chilled music (experimental electronica) which matches the not too loud, not too quiet ambience. Similarly, not too light but not too dark — cool lights and decorations too. Could spend many hours relaxing here I feel. Coffee is decent too (latte is £2−3 depending on size).

My go-​to coffee spot in the neighborhood. Bermondsey Street Coffee has decent coffee, a nice little selection of cakes and snacks, and plenty of space during the week if you want to veg for a few hours, read a good book, or just shoot the breeze with a friend.
Coffee is on the pricy side, but I’d rather pay a few extra pence to sit and sip my coffee in peace instead of cramming onto a packed communal table at Monmouth Coffee over by Borough Market.
Two things that are somewhat irritating: 1) the tables by the door are welded into the floor, but they’re really far out from the benches… so you have to perch at the very edge of your seat or otherwise, just be very tall and willing to hunch over your laptop. 2) there’s free wifi, but you need to ask them for a logon code every hour because it kicks you off after 60 minutes. It’s 2014, just give me free and open Wifi access already…

There are good coffee shops in London. Unfortunately, this isn’t one of them.
The coffee is pretty good, but it’s not «£4 for a ‘medium’ as tall as my pinky finger» good. I also can’t quite figure out how it takes such a long time to make the drinks. There are consistently 4+ people behind the counter. One person asks for your order, the next person enters it into the till, then a third person writes it on the cup, and a fourth person grinds the beans, and then… you get the point. The service is shit. Not only is it slow, but it comes with a serious attitude from the individuals making the drinks. They give off the «I can’t believe you’re bothering me» vibe. Maybe they are trying to be «cool»? I’m not into it. They seem to care very little about the line of customers trying desperately to caffeinate themselves, and very much about carrying on conversations with each other. I once waited 11 minutes for an Americano.
Now, let’s talk about the atmosphere. While at first glance it looks pretty cozy, I often find it difficult to score a seat. The place is crawling with people who use it as a remote office… all day. Because it’s a long and narrow space, you often find yourself in a corner in the rear and it’s a pretty dreary place to be 9 months out of the year.
Not welcoming, poor service, and the coffee, while several steps up from Starbucks, isn’t worth the trouble.
Head to Hej Coffee in Bermondsey Square instead. You’ll find clever and lovely staff, amazing coffee, and a bright and welcoming interior.

Best coffee in the area in my opinion, better than Monmouth I’d say. It has a rather relaxed vibe and they lay the hipster on you thick.
It does get rather busy at times which can be a ballache if you’re looking to sit about for a bit on a peak hour you may have trouble. The couch configuration can be misleading as what appears to be free space can not be so leaving you disappointed and perhaps looking a fool.

Dope ass coffee shop! Its got the hipster ass couches and wall décor and everything! Good coffee too and relatively cheap if your from the UK. The vibe of this place is amazing. Friendly staff, good coffee (i got the americano) and plenty of room and space to chill. Its close by to a place I intern so i expect to be here often.

I like the feel of the place. It’s got that quirky hipster try-​hard thing going on a little, but if you’re ok with that then you won’t mind.
What you might mind are the staff acting like it’s their very own social club and perhaps thinking that them having fun with their mates is more important than getting you your lunch or potentially very average coffee. The soup I had was excellent though, as was the muffin, so I’m a bit torn. I’ll probably go back if I have the chance, but won’t be making the trip especially.
It’ll always be a slightly busy in there as it’s right amongst it on the happening Bermondsey Street.

The coffee here is consistently a bit shit.

Love the vibe of this hip café filled with awesome music, couches, and people on their macs and ipads.
Prewrapped sandwiches can be toasted although didn’t try them (nor did I try the coffee). Opted for a smoothie which was standard fare.
I just really enjoyed the atmosphere – I could sink in here for a good long time.
One thing that does bother me though is that everything is served in paper and plastic, even if you are consuming in. That sucks.

Whenever I enter a coffee@ location (or the coffee shops formerly known as…) I instantly feel as if I’ve slipped and fallen back into my teenage years growing up in Seattle. Before I have time to stop myself, it’s 1990-​something, I’m wearing flannel, rocking braces, VHS taping every episode of My So Called Life, listening to grunge music on my walkman and debating whether I should buy some JNCOs, or if they look ‘way too skater’ on me.
The funky mismatched atmosphere and the trendily uncouth vibe as well as the above average coffee perpetuate this Seattle upbringing flashback, and for the record, there is nothing wrong with this. In fact, I oft enjoy a trip back in time — especially when it involves said above average coffee, some organic juices and softs and some locally made munchies.
The present day BSC experience also involves a connection to the world wide web that doesn’t make robot sex sounds, although I would trade that futuristic perk for Jordan Catalano any day.

I’m rather fond of the Coffee@ shops. They don’t do fantastic coffee, nor are they incredibly cheap, and the tables seem to be perpetually dirty.
So why do I like this place?
Well, they have a whole bunch of magazines and newspapers for those who need something to ride. The walls are nicely decorated with neon signs, while the lampshades are made up of paper espresso cups. They have free wi-​fi. Music’s fairly decent (today, they seemed to be playing loads of songs from The Cure). They’ve got sofas and cushions.
All in all, it’s a great place to catch up with friends for a long period of time. In fact, I think it’ll be a great place to continue a date after lunch nearby. It’s just got that kind of incredibly comfortable vibe without being too crowded (at least not in all the weekends I’ve been there).

Lovely coffee shop with a great atmosphere. The back is full of squishy sofas and they play chilled disco/​house type music. The staff are friendly and the coffee is good. The cakes are delicious and the local noticeboard adds a homely feel.
You can easily spend a Saturday afternoon here chatting with friends. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.
