Walking over to this shop on a Saturday morning might be the most middle-class thing I have ever done! My husband found the perfect paint colour for our living room, but homebase wouldn’t let us order it, so I gave the F&B showroom a call to see if they had it in stock. They didn’t, but they called me back two days later once they received a delivery. They were friendly, polite and efficient(so not quite the same as homebase…) I am *soooo* glad I just needed to pay and pick it up. This showroom is not very large, but it was crammed full of people! I asked the cashier if it is always that busy on Saturday, and she said that it was! I guess the folks of Islington need their £38 little pots of pretty colours! I recommend calling in advance to check if they have your paint in stock… then escaping as soon as you can! The paint is expensive, but it seems to be really good quality… it is quite thick, so looks really good with just one coat. ***Extra note, if homebase *does* stock the F&B colour that you like, it is £1 cheaper than buying it from this F&B shop.***

Farrow and Ball manufacture and sell traditional English wallpapers and a range of always evolving paint in a variety of finishes. This particular stockist in Islington is run by a friendly man who is flexible with the quantity of paint you buy. F & B do a very small can of paint for colour testing. On larger quantities ask for a discount. But the brand is quientessentially english, a very fresh approach more Georgian rather than the dark gloomy Victorian style. Their recent launch of Rosslyn Wallpapers a reproduction of 19th century English cotton print with delicate inspired botanical ingredients is quiet refereshing. Its hard making a decision with so much option.
